Member incentives for bringing brands to Narrative

Malkazoid ·
A question for the team! Do you have anything in mind along these lines? Something to make it worthwhile for members to bring brands to open a channel on Narrative? A small percentage of the revenue raised from the channel fee, and channel activity, for example? 5%? I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this. Programs like this could help the network and its revenue grow at a much faster clip, which in turn would accelerate user adoption.

Suggestion: Reputation for Referrals

Emily Barnett ·
Morning Narrative community and @Narrative Network Team So I have been actively trying to recruit new members whom will most likely be interested in posting content in my niche's and others. I would like to welcome @scottshots who is a photographer whom I found on Steemit and Dtube. This got me thinking that maybe we could have an incentive for people of a reputation award, that gets calculated starting now, for each new person we bring over to Narrative. Perhaps when...

Any Marketing Plans to create a Narrative Bounty?

Emily Barnett ·
Hello @Narrative Network Team, Has the team considered doing a token incentive Bounty campaign for signup, twitter, youtube videos, articles, etc. you could add that it has to have been promoted to a certain number like 1000 followers. such as a video needs to be tweeted via an account with a 1000 followers or posted on a subreddit account with over a 1000 followers. to ensure you are getting your tokens worth of promotion. Some bounty campaigns reward early promotion with a bonus...

20 new community board members in the last 14 days.

Emily Barnett ·
First off welcome to the Narrative community board to the 20 patrons whom signed up for the community board since May 30th. I look forward to reading your posts on here! Glad to see people dig a little deeper into the communication tools that are here for us. Secondly, I wanted to say that I have noticed a few more new faces voting and suggesting in Chaucer these days. Looks like Patrons that didn't initially jump in to the alpha platform, are now starting to. This is great! What aspects of...

Rate of opening up new rounds on Alpha!

Emily Barnett ·
Anybody else noticing how exponential we are opening up new rounds of 500 members to Alpha these days? A month ago it was taking about 10 days now we are getting closer to 4-5 days before we reach 500. This is so great, and very exciting. Niches are getting approved much faster because we are usually reaching quorum in the three days set aside for voting. Good work everyone who is spreading the word about Narrative!

Referral Programme

Debbie Meier ·
I understand the Referral Programme has now come to an end. But I do think that a new type of Referral Programme could be very beneficial to the Narrative Platform. Although I understand that the reward would no doubt need to be lower than pre-Beta, I do think that having a RP could encourage users to keep on promoting the platform and help it gain additional members. Just a simple type of recognition of those who help attract new members would probably be motivation enough. Would it be...

Since you've requested 3 moderators, I'm going to assume you've figured out how to change the number of moderators needed for your niches. How does one do this? I haven't been able to figure it out.

Somewhere here there is a blog entry that Molly wrote for that, but the quick answer is to go to your niche from your profile. On the niche page click the 3 dots, then click management hub. Click niche settings, and there you have it.

Drixx Madison ·
I noticed the same thing! I came in on round 13 in Oct and we're already in round 25. So in 4.5 months at 30 days, we're signing up around 42 new people each day. But according to network stats we have 6,760 total members, which would mean each round of 25 didn't contain 500 members.

Re: Rate of opening up new rounds on Alpha!

I noticed that too!! The conversion rate from signing up for the next round, to the actual unlocking of Narrative, to setting up the actual profile needs to be improved upon. Perhaps more marketing on the email reminder to build more hype that people are about to be let into the platform. Something needs to be enticing to get people to actually come to the platform once the round has opened up to them. @Melanie Mathos ??

There are people who have deleted their accounts, as well. I doubt that explains the total number of members unaccounted for, but it would explain part of it.

We are pretty pleased with the amount of people who have signed up in these early days-it takes a lot of vision and a touch of early adopteritis to help build something. (As you know!) We've taken this opportunity during the Alpha period to strategically test out some marketing channels in preparation for our beta launch. We've been able to prove and improve upon our Cost Per Acquisition, which has been great. When we launched the Claim Your Spot campaign, we committed to email smartly and...

Hi Emily, you and @ericnovak are on the same wavelength! We have some things in the works for growing the community, but won't be using bounties as a way to fuel the growth. Here's why: https://blog.narrative.network...n-bingo-442f34359109

I've literally been messaging Melanie about bounties this morning, haha. I think we still have the potential to be rewarded according to the terms of the airdrop: "The Narrative Community managers may also apply points to users at any time (or, for troublemakers, remove points)." It's just not the same form of payment as a bounty, and that's okay.

Interesting read. Thanks for posting the link @Melanie Mathos , I respect the position @Rosemary is taking due to the principles around transparency, that Narrative is taking on; but it will make your job even more critically important since you will not have the organic outreach of the established content influencers that are not on the platform. I will be most interested in learning what plans the core team has to get the word out there, that Narrative exists in lieu of a bounty campaign.

Certainly a bounty could be given to join Narrative ...like a one or two month campaign....I wish that more tokens were reserved for this sort of promotion rather than burning....but oh well...for now time only goes one direction.

Hi Emily! I think it's a cool idea (and just about anything is possible), but a referral system isn't on our roadmap at the moment. I'm sure it's something we'll consider as we continue to develop our overall Narrative marketing strategy

Re: Suggestion: Reputation for Referrals

Michael Farris ·
Agreed the idea is a good one. We're spec'ing out a Reputation 1.0 engine that works on a number of metrics. Referrals is not on that list but I certainly can see how community-building of that sort is a legitimate dimension of reputation. I updated some notes with the idea and a permalink so we think about it in future iterations.

Re: Suggestion: Reputation for Referrals

I know your road map must be pretty full. but I think this is very worthwhile to consider as a slight detour. Incentivizing the 4800 people you have by reputation rewards costs nothing more than some programming labour, but can result in exponential growth, increased utility transaction fees (niche purchases), and most likely, a potential kickstart to the rising valuation of the NRVE token. Activating the people whom are grumbling by giving them something to earn...reputation...is smart. I...

I like the idea of incentivizing the recruitment of people to the platform. I don't know that reputation is the right route. I think we have already heard that reputation on here isn't transferable to reputation on Narrative. My understanding is that the actions which will have reputation attached to them also have a life time, so to speak, attached to them. As soon as the action happens, the impact of that action would be at 100%...as time goes by and you get further from the date of the...

I'm finding this quite interesting too. One thing I want to ++ is the need to bring people over from Telegram to have real conversations. This forum isn't Narrative, of course, but it's a whole lot closer than the crazy rollercoaster of Telegram. Unsurprisingly, the team follows community posts more closely than Telegram remarks! I like the idea of incentivizing successful invitations to this Community even now ++. @Banter you are correct that rank here will not transfer over to Narrative...

I think in some other life I must have been a criminal... maybe not a good one, but my mind often filters everything through a " how could I beat this system/security? "... I think one of the risks of implementing referral rewards (directly) is that it could easily be gamed using fake accounts, etc. I vaguely recall some discussion around this in the very early stages, before the alpha was launched. In a way, the reward system (for everyone) is baked in to the community participation...

@Bryan you think like some of my long lost calvinist forbears Yes, we inveterately seek to game anything for our own benefit! My own goal is to make the best way to game "reputation" simply to act just like a supportive member of the community, contributing, curating and taking part in local governance for the good of the platform. Reputation in Narrative is multifaceted. There are many components to "game" and some (many in fact) are in the hands of others. Of course, people will seek to...
