Need Your Input! Labels in Chaucer

Rosemary ·
When the Chaucer alpha goes live, we'll be allowing the Founders (defined as anyone who contributed 60 or more NEO in the token sale) to have certain permissions. Founders will have a little "Founder" label next to their name in the interface. The next group of people who will have permissions in Chaucer will be anyone who participated in the token sale (regardless of the amount of NEO they contributed). I'm asking for input from your illustrious minds...what label would you like to see next...

Bidding system vulnerable to sniping

Malkazoid ·
Hello Narrative Team Ebay long ago implemented the ability for people to enter a maximum bid. This has the immense value of allowing people to not lose an auction due to someone bidding $1 higher in the last seconds of the auction. In such an event, if the currently winning bidder had entered a maximum bid higher than the bidding price, the only way to snipe the auction away from her would be to enter a last minute bid higher than her secret maximum. Is there a way for you to implement this...

Will the Moderator section go live before Q4

Emily Barnett ·
Since lining up moderators is an important aspect of having a functioning release of Narrative in the Q4, I am wondering how soon there will be the previously discussed area where people can express their intentions to moderate and for what topics they are knowledgeable in. As well as Niche owners to post what they are looking for? I recognize that many Niche owners may be looking for moderators outside the platform, but the perfect person may already be here...with out this part of the...

Niche validation voting, and reputation

Malkazoid ·
Hello @Narrative Network Team Voting for the niches is becoming quite time consuming especially if we want to leave informative comments for any downvotes, or a controversial upvote. And yet the community must do this in order for the platform to work. 1) This may already be the case, but in case it isn't, I propose that the voting activity from the outset of the Chaucer Alpha be taken into account in the initial reputation scoring when the platform launches. This way the people putting...

"When Exchange?" and "When public?" -- Alpha News

Michael Farris ·
We're coming up to 4 weeks complete for the Chaucer Alpha and well over 300,000 NRVE have gone into the Community Rewards Pool from sales of niches. That means a great supply of NRVE available for the community when Narrative launches. I'd say the "new content economy" is beginning to work. A quick update on the "when exchange?" the perennial posted question in Telegram: We're still working very hard on making agreements and will announce the news here and in Telegram as soon as we have it.

Top 20 Chaucer Niches (by NRVE value)

MOLLY O ·
This is Molly, the new COO at Narrative. I am about one week on the job and busy getting up to speed on everything. My head is like a ping-pong ball – lots of information to absorb. We are working quickly but thoughtfully on everything from hiring to policies to product. To me, the best news is that Narrative has already established a real community. I know this from reading the Community forum and the telegram site. One of my responsibilities is to oversee customer advocacy. Part of that...

Is it time to open up Chaucer to new people?

Emily Barnett ·
With people trying to sell their Nerve tokens, Chaucer having an abundance of approved niches sitting idle, and new suggestions having difficulty reaching the quorum of 21 votes, perhaps it is time to consider opening up the process to new interested community members. Personally I feel the six weeks for Patrons, and the 2 months for Founders is pleanty of time to appease the ICO status of the early investors/purchasers of the NRVE token. If you haven't picked up your niches yet, it is...

Feedback on Chaucer Design/User Experience

MOLLY O ·
As we head into future releases of the Narrative platform, we want your opinion about your experience thus far using Chaucer from a design perspective. While Chaucer is only focused on niches, we want to understand your experience to date. Tell us about.... Your initial impression of Chaucer? What actions feel confusing? What do you feel is lacking and could be improved? What do you like about the current Chaucer platform? What wouldn't you change? Our own @Matt Brooks...

Limited time Chaucer access

Malkazoid ·
The @Narrative Network Team already have something in the works for opening up Chaucer to a wider user base, so this suggestion may not fit what they already have in mind, but please consider it on its merits. It might be advantageous to open up Chaucer to newcomers in small increments, by opening it up for a limited time and cutting off new sign ups once a target is reached. Benefits : 1) Chaucer becomes active again (really not optimal that niches are not being bid on - sends precisely...

Chaucer for the crypto newbie

Emily Barnett ·
Hi! So excited to see how fast the wait list is growing...thanks team for letting us have a visual marker. So my very simple post with a link has generated several completely crypto newbs to join. This is super exciting but also a little nerve wracking because already i got a message about how one of my friends plans to buy her brand and maybe a niche. So far she has seen the page that got posted today that doesn't really mention cryptocurrency and tokens... I am worried without any support...

Founders and Patrons: How to Earn Referral Rewards

Melanie Mathos ·
We want to make sure everyone is aware of the updates to Chaucer that will enable Founders and Patrons to earn Referral Rewards for recruiting signups to the digital waiting list. To earn rewards, you must invite people using your personal referral link. This can be found in your Chaucer profile , where you can also send email invitations and share via social media. In addition, you'll be able to track how many people have signed up via your link, how much NRVE you have earned and how close...

Let the Chaucer voting comments shine!

Malkazoid ·
Hello all, This is a reminder to the @Narrative Network Team that comments on niche ballot boxes are still unnecessarily hidden from view in a tab. This is becoming an urgent consideration as we ramp up participation in Chaucer, and is already causing problems. There is a redundant niche underway (please take a moment to vote NO on it): https://alpha.narrative.org/ballot/8352348105331322 Two members of the community have taken the time to comment ( @Emily Barnett and me )...

Chaucer digest

Malkazoid ·
Similar idea here, to the suggestion of a Community forum digest. Participation in the Chaucer Alpha is up of course, with the influx of new users. But aspects of it are not - voting to confirm niches is a bit on the anemic side for instance, and we have no current mechanism to fix that. If a weekly message went out to all users with a digest of some of the notable activity on Chaucer (interesting new niches proposed, niches that need more votes, etc), with a reminder that voting builds...

Handles Now Supported in Chaucer

As mentioned in last week's Narrative @ Work , Chaucer now supports Handles. The handle you set in Chaucer is the handle that you'll ultimately use on the Narrative platform, so get in early and reserve yours now! Insevtor ? Ivnestor? If neither of those roll off the tongue in the desired way, I'd have to vote for @Alex Shepherd 's suggestions: Original (or maybe OG), Pioneer , or maybe Backer . I've ruled out Nerve Specialist, Neurologist, and Professional Hockey Player for obvious reasons.

I thought about Patron (but that's what Patreon supporters are called). The whole clam thing didn't even cross my mind, to be honest. But something hinting at clams or clams' nervous systems might be fun for kids these days. Axon Clam Mollusktron (Mollusk + Electron) Bivalvians Pelecypod Vanguard any of those will do just fine. Newbie here. So, I'd like to put in that it must be a somewhat grandiose and cool name, with fun coming in just as a bonus. You know... something that makes it seem like only visionaries would have bought in early. Thus, I really like "Pioneer." Along those lines, some alternatives: Framer - Dovetails nicely with the "founder" language Architect Steward Leader

Rosemary's "I've got Nerve" is growing on me... I'd found that too when looking through an idiom dictionary entry for expressions containing "nerve", but dismissed it too quickly as sounding funny... The more I read it, the less weird it sounds. I'm starting to like it! Maybe "Got NRVE" is even more to the point?

Re: Need Your Input! Labels in Chaucer

Bryan ·
As a pretentiously self-appointed devil's advocate: the reason I don't like some of these suggestions is because they* are compound words/phrases and/or they aren't really read as labels/titles. Got NRVE really channels the "Got Milk" campaign in the USA, and is pretty campy—along the lines of Wendy's famous "Where's The Beef?". I'd prefer any labels attached to my account name/profile to be a single, strong word—like Founder—which doesn't depend on specialized, internal context, but can be...

Here is another idea that I love, but am not sure how we could pull it off. In building projects they often sell bricks. For instance, for the Fenway Park refurb, you could buy a brick. They would engrave your name on an real actual brick. And cement it to the ground in the concourse. People that bought in are brick owners. They send you a map with the location of your brick. If you attended a Red Sox game at Fenway Park you could actually visit and take a picture of your brick. Buying a...

Wow, you guys really delivered! Thanks. Sounds like there's some consensus around these: Original, OP Pioneer Patron Got NRVE I think Backer has some support internally too. The interesting thing about "OP" is that, in forum world, "OP" means "original poster," the person who initiated the new topic. I like Pioneer in general, and it does dovetail nicely with Founder, but it does conjure covered wagons for me...maybe that's not a bad thing? Pioneers put in the hard work of clearing land,...
