How can members help Narrative grow rapidly after launch

Naturally the efforts of members to grow Narrative's user base at launch time, will be crucial. We all have different networks, and different styles that will influence how we reach out to them and engage them. I think we could see a boost of maybe 20-80% to our success rate in attracting users, if we all share our ideas on how this can be done most...

Method: Old photos that your crowd has not seen yet Category : natural on-boarding of close friends and relatives One way I'm planning to attract the important people in my life to share the Narrative platform with me, is to post old photographs I know they will enjoy discovering. I think a lot of us have photos stashed somewhere, that depict us and our loved ones from so long ago that the images carry a fascinating poignancy to them. And we've been meaning to scan them and send them to our...

I'm doing some low-level promo on a few other sites, nothing major right now but I will amp it up after the site is up and running. As an investor, I need Narrative to succeed.

I'm promoting Narrative on Twitter and Linkedin. Unfortunately, since 99% of my friends on Facebook have no crypto interest/knowledge, it's harder to promote it there. It will be much easier if I on-board them by sharing my sex stories exclusively in Narrative before hitting my blog. I have a lot of traction with my dirty existential writing among my networks

Yes, great stuff indeed. But, jokes aside, I think exclusive, quality content, is the key to make Narrative hit the ground running. Medium has done it, to great success. Whereas Steemit has failed to accomplish that, plagued with multiple copy/pasted duplicated content and low quality, mindless chatter. Let's be Medium, but better. And free.

Method: Kicking the Facebook habit Category : broad on-boarding strategies I don't think it will be difficult for Facebook users to become curious about Narrative - there's a lot to be curious about, perhaps most prominently: - owning your content - getting paid for your content These are very simple notions that can be communicated quickly and effectively. It is once that curiosity is there that the obstacles come up. To name the biggest I can think of: - inertia ("all my stuff is on...

Agreed, and I think Narrative will probably quote in fiat whenever appropriate, perhaps similarly to the way Steemit does... or perhaps differently. There is a discussion to be had about obscuring NRVE too much though. It all depends on what the goal is for the currency. If the idea is that we will design incentives to hold NRVE because it benefits the community in major ways for it to appreciate, then NRVE can't be hidden away like an embarrassing cousin who drools and gropes his relatives.

I think the whole argument of "owning my content" and "being paid for my content" are great selling points, specially if we bash Facebook for their inmoral data exposure and trading practices. Though, my main concern -and one of Narrative's biggest challenges- is, hands down, filling the gap between crypto and fiat. We need to offer our users a fiat gateway, for probably at least 50% have no idea what crypto is, nor they will see the use to it. So saying "we'll give you XXX tokens" will...

Hehe, I do indeed see what you are doing there... Yes, I'm glad you're mindful of the Crypto focus that many early adopters inevitably have. From what I can see, there will be a fairly broad array of interests represented in the first niches, and then it will be up to the niche owners and their early adopters to create an attractive space and content that embodies their niche successfully. Crypto may be somewhat overrepresented initially, but as long as the platform is well designed, this...

I'm on board with that. It's not my intention to obscure our token in any way, but I think we have to educate our users about crypto through the token. But, as I said, the token in itself might not be important, in the beginning, to the average content generator. Also, I'd hate Narrative to become just another Cryptocurrency subreddit. Crypto should be just another niche, and never the main focus. That's the only way to thrive and survive in this competitive medium (see what I did there? )

Re: How can members help Narrative grow rapidly after launch

Same here. I think the true value of Narrative lies in quality content and democratic participation of authors of all walks of life, with their own points of view and beliefs. Crypto is fascinating, but we shouldn't narrow down our focus an be secluded in such a small niche.

Wow there is alot of content in this thread. All great ideas. I for one will use my social media platforms to get the word out as most of you have stated. I plan on using both business and personal venues. Realistically, I have very few business associates and family that are Crypto Enthusiasts other than my boys. So I will be just talking about how the content within Narrative will drive the success. And the compensation for good content will be in the form of tokens that you can exchange...

As @CryptoPhil points out, there is still a big lack of knowledge of crypto, from what it is to what you can do with it. It'd be nice if the platform offers a real world case for the use of the token (ex. buying Narrative merch with NRVE,) and also if it displays the token balances in your account with their fiat value, so less crypto savvy people still gets an idea of what their tokens are worth (which is what steemit is doing.)

The Politics Niche

Narrators one and all, Narrators big and small... And there ends the attempts to rhyme, lest you come to think this will be the tone of the Politics niche: it won't be. I won't be rhyming people into a quivering mess. But it will be an inclusive niche, of course. Small people and very large people will not be discriminated against - I really meant that. Please jump into this thread if you have an interest in politics, and intend to participate in the life of this niche. Lets get to know each...

Hey go for it man! Refer refer refer! The more people that get referred, the faster the next round unlocks. There are no limitations as to who can offer referrals. Please do use your individual link that is in your profile so that you get credit. If I remember correctly you will get 9 NRVE for each completed referral using your unique link.

I'm a little concerned too. In 5 days we'll be half way between the release of the revamped alpha and the promised Beta launch - and we have not seen any of the incremental updates that were supposed to slot in along the way. This tells me we're not on track for Beta, OR development is happening on many fronts at once and they are all going to bear fruit around the same time. This second possibility mostly kills the notion of incremental updates but at least would mean we might still be on...

I sure hope it is soon. the interest in Narrative really seems to be fizzling as time goes on. I know I was hoping to see the beta launch at the beginning of the fourth quarter....now as we approach December I am just hopeful that the team meats the target, and that we can start posting by the end of 2018. I think this is critical.

I'm not too worried at this point. Outside of our little crypto-sphere, blogging platforms that aren't even workable would never generate any serious interest anyway. I wouldn't want to see any serious advertising campaign until Narrative has a full working product beta. The worst thing you can do as a developer, is to release half-baked software to the world, because you only get one chance to make that first impression. I'm speaking for myself here, but I haven't even looked at any...

I'm still confident that the team's going to make a beta launch in December. That's technically still along the lines of the original roadmap, albeit a little stretchy. I do still feel that Narrative needs a mobile app for Android & iOS to launch with (or sometime within) the beta test. Even if the platform is fully responsive for any common screen size, me and the 'average joe' will look for their online services in the App/Play Store and want to use it from the comfort of their home...

Hey there everyone, I looked into the "EVENTS" tab but I couldn't find any information regarding when we have the beta platform launch! The waitlist page has information mentioning we might have the beta launch later this year, but aren't we already later-later of this year?! So, how many rounds more of Narrative Alpha to go until we launch the beta?

Re: How long until BETA launch?

The roadmap does say: December - Launch Narrative Beta - Conclude waitlist program, enable open registration, and Narrative staff continues to refer everyone to the roadmap when we ask about timelines, so I'm thinking we WILL get Beta next month.

Everyone that took part, or referred another person should pat yourselves on the back a little. Last time that I looked at the member count was when Melanie posted about passing 5k users and it's been a few rounds since then. Stop and think about that. Of the oodles of ICO and token sale projects out there, how many today have more than 5k users? How many are growing users? 435/500 on round 17. Amazing! 17 rounds of referrals from the community! From in here at Narrative Central (I just made...

More users is all good and well but more functionality please. And more exchanges. Switcheo might have problems down the road. People must be able to buy NRVE tokens easily.

Also note that a good chunk of those 10k users probably doesn't care about NRVE and crypto (yet), and signed up because they're interested in a social network that doesn't eat their users while being feature-rich and accessible. Of course NRVE is what determines the value of the network and thus it should be made as easy as possible to obtain. My favorite exchange at the moment is definitely KuCoin, which isn't trading NRVE yet. I've been way more careful with shady exchanges after the...

Unowned niches need to be active

Malkazoid ·
This seems to be the most pressing topic right now, so a good first 'Conversation' for the new version of the community forums. In an effort to see just how many people will come up against the jarring realisation that the tag they want can only be unlocked if someone spends $75, I tested the assertion made by the @Narrative Network Team that most topics are covered by owned niches. So I took some common areas of interest and searched for niches for them. Politics There are a few...

Re: Unowned niches need to be active

This is what I've been saying. Unowned niches could be "owned" by Narrative until someone sees them as good investments and wants the commission for themselves. Niches with active owners will almost definitely outperform unowned niches because owners have a big incentive to drive people to the platform to contribute to or consume the content in their niches. The unowned niches that prove my theory wrong won't be unowned for long, because they'll have proven performance.

I'm so glad people aren't letting this go. Content creators don't sit around and wait for platforms to catch up to their requirements for labeling and classifying their content. Nor do they just post what they do think fits. They leave. Logic doesn't enter into it. This is predictable human behavior that is, in my opinion, foolish to ignore. Foolish is a strong word, but the warning bells on this need to be loud. One solution that comes to mind is to plaster the abandoned/inactive niches...

I agree completely. I tried a dozen topics that I would like to write about, and was able to find suitable niches for only three. So that's an immediate barrier for new users. Then, when they see the auction system that requires people to buy niches in order to activate them, I think a lot of people are going to conclude that the site is a scam. Why not just activate ALL approved niches? If someone chooses to make an investment by buying a niche, then they will get the niche owner's share...
