I agree....I think the team is heads down on dev of the beta...but this kind of thing is important from a marketing perspective and doesn't take all that much effort. I think bringing things like this up to the @Narrative Network Team 's attention is important as it can be difficult to track down dead / out of date pages.

Narrative Network Team - Releasing posts on Medium

Banter ·
This is just a suggestion. Can the @Narrative Network Team please create a topic in the appropriate forum whenever a new article is released on the Narrative Blog (Medium)? This way we can easily have a discussion about it here, rather than having to create a new topic from scratch each time.

Re: [Suggestions] Features to be added into Narrative

Malkazoid ·
Here's how I would solve it. The comments should be directly beneath the New Ballot description box, not hidden in a sub tab. The summary tab can be thrown out too: all that data can be included in the New Ballot description box, in a smaller font so that it is nice and compact, right under the words "BALLOT (NEW NICHE)". Result - the main page for voting on that niche has the comments right in front of you, impossible to miss. Hopefully his is an easy fix for the @Narrative Network Team

Re: Spanish and German versions of Narrative?

Malkazoid ·
Hi Cara, I can't say with any real authority what the plan is for other languages - this is not the priority at the moment since the @Narrative Network Team must first focus on launching a successful English language platform. So they have not communicated much about this. That said, I'm not sure why there would be any reason to not use the NRVE token? What about it would be different for users who speak other languages?

Re: New blog post: The Narrative Manifesto

Just a small note, for what it is worth: I'm not a fan of the blue person standing with their hand on a large journal. Nothing against blue people per se - it just isn't an appealing graphic. It is the graphic that shows up when one goes to share this Medium Manifesto post on Facebook - the one everyone will see when you post about it to your feed there. I can't easily post it here, but I'm sure the @Narrative Network Team will know the one. Narrative has huge potential - that graphic goes...

Search engine optimisation for Narrative

This thread is to help alert the @Narrative Network Team to areas of SEO where improvements are needed. I'll kick things off with an example: Google 'narrative roadmap', or click here The very first result is a very outdated icobench.com page on Narrative , that has not been updated since Narrative left the Ethereum blockchain to switch to NEO. Narrative's own blog post on the roadmap update comes second... People interested in the project are being deterred by following the top search...

Great - it has been really productive bouncing this around between us all: plenty of good considerations and ideas for the @Narrative Network Team to consider. I like the ownership condition for viewing the revenue of other niches, @Michael . It adds a useful barrier to entry, and encourages people to own a smaller, less valuable niche first, before bidding on an expensive one that is being resold. In fact, if we were to stipulate that you have to have owned a niche for a certain period...

Just got an email containing a... Narrative newsletter. "Welcome to Narrative News" Thank you for all those on the @Narrative Network Team who made this happen, and I look forward to the next one. @Malkazoid , I like the idea of the middle ground...allowing for the reporting of the data, while still protecting the identity of individual Narrator's should the choose to remain anonymous. Perhaps the @Narrative Network Team can weigh on on the possibility of the following feature: A "Hide My Rewards" setting that would replace the user's handle with 'Anonymous' in the system when it comes to reporting rewards in the system. This would include moderation, niche ownership, content...

Re: PORN NICHE

Malkazoid ·
This all boils down to a choice. I don't agree with the arguments about advertisers - niches are discrete worlds that can easily be cordoned off from advertisers who do not wish their products associated with them. But I do agree that porn may well not be what we should be aiming for, for Narrative. Particularly at this time. But it boils down to a choice, and there are two potential groups of decision makers. The Narrative Team First of all, I think it would be useful at this stage to know...

@Malkazoid You told me that this user, Denis, has 366,520 followers on G+. I hope and I am pretty confident that the @Narrative Network Team has some secret strategies at hand how to bring people with such a huge community of followers from G+ to Narrative. I can't imagine how sad it would be to let this great opportunity pass. And regarding Denis himself, may I ask if he or the Team have talked with each other about those issues? I mean this would be the most reasonable way to do, speaking...

That would make a good addition to the quick list of niche approval voting guidelines. A quick tip: when you want to alert someone to your post, you can tag them in it using the @ symbol, and then their name - as you start to type, you'll see the font will turn to bold and if you wait a sec or two, a list will pop up attempting to autocomplete the name you are typing. When making a recommendation to the Narrative team, you can tag them with @Narrative Network Team

Hi @Rosemary , @Michael 's recent post is interesting and worth serious consideration in my opinion. But on a simpler level, I question why Narrative would pursue this way of doing things in the first place. All the legal expertise that might be required to do so safely, may be a waste of time and money if it turns out making everyone's earnings is not actually in Narrative's best interests... Here's what gives me pause regarding Narrative's interests. Creating conflict between the impulse...

Narrative revenue streams - monetising data

Malkazoid ·
Some folks on Facebook were asking where Narrative will pull in revenue from. The sources I am aware of are: - Ads - Brand channel purchase and renewal fees - Niche purchase and renewal fees - 5% fee on niche purchase price if it is put up for sale by auction by its owner Does the @Narrative Network Team have plans to let users select aspects of their data for monetisation, making it accessible either anonymously or not, to brands and analytics?

Re: How Narrative Beats Minds by a Mile

A limited number of free boosts sound interesting, except I'd personally prefer it be called something else - favorite or something. Favorited posts would be other than one's own, so if it was monetized, would the NRVE go to the post author? If so , I think it's a great idea. And it would be super if @Narrative Network Team circulated some human curated "super posts" at least site off site - really good bet for attracting interest all around. For on-site it might be too much work, but some...

Re: Gaming the System

Emily Barnett ·
I don't think the external views, needs to be factored into your rewards though. I mean, sharing it outside of the platform is a given, because if you already have an interested audience in your particular voice, you will by human nature be interested in enticing them to join Narrative, as they are mostly already in a favorable position to follow and vote up your content once they join. I think this is plenty of motivation.

Re: Gaming the System

Malkazoid ·
I hadn't considered that - you're right, and the algorithm will have to strike a balance between the opposing imperatives of wanting to demote external views that are inherently more likely to be an attempt to game, and wanting narrators to market their content externally to the network. At first there will be a natural motivation for all of us to market externally though, since the low number of internal users at the outset will mean there just won't be that many internal views to court. I...

As such, I really don't have a problem with having the financials of the Niches out in public. Feedback from a niche owner I introduced to Narrative

Malkazoid ·
Over the past 12 months, I've been wavering about whether the current execution of the platform is of a standard to warrant reaching out to people about Narrative. After the recent release, I've reached a conclusion - trying to involve other people with the project currently is almost certainly a waste of time, and a waste of that precious first impression. Denis Wallez became aware of Narrative when I started posting about the project on G+. I've had a number of exchanges with him on G+...

It shouldn't be such a surprise. Niches are what we're focusing on now. Its the whole point of Chaucer, and the only aspect of Narrative that is in existence in any shape or form. It is also the aspect many people are most interested in, if they are the connector/entrepreneur type of contributor. I'm not surprised some people aren't interested in niches... We've all got different plans for what we would like to bring to the network (thankfully).

@Malkazoid - thank you for sharing your thoughts, and in particular for making public your discussion with your friend. My initial impression of Narrative was that the platform felt very disconnected from reality, and my experience since then has not changed that. I get the impression that the Narrative Team has fallen in love with their own vision, and isn't seeing the 'visuals' they are creating. At this point, I am not promoting Narrative, because I can't make a compelling argument for...

Hey - Well I can see why you're sharing the information of Denis' followers, but I was somewhat deliberately not making an issue of that for two reasons. a) I did not know he had that many followers until fairly recently and it is not why I initially engaged with him. I was simply aware that he headed up a large community of Buddhists. He was actively seeking new platforms, and our conversation just grew from there. I've spent time with other folks who have virtually no followers too... but...

Nice - I enjoyed the read and will share. At some point, I'd also love to see the narrative pushed that joining Narrative and its decentralised social network is a concrete step towards safeguarding democracy. The sovereignty of powerful nations is being undermined by targeted foreign campaigns to influence their elections, undermining the democratic process. These campaigns rely on some of the flaws of the current big social networks, in order to function. Narrative might not be immune to...

Marketing and exchanges are they connected?

Emily Barnett ·
Good morning Narrative peeps! So I read an interesting post on telegram this mornning from Andrés not sure if he is on the community board or not. He mentioned that from a marketing standpoint these small exchanges send out the wrong message, like a Ferrari dealership opening up in a low income neighborhood. Misplaced. So this got me wondering from a marketing standpoint if Narrative should be pushing hard to spread the word so that new token purchasers can get involved? Or, should the team...

@Corey Think about this from a business perspective. In this day and age most advertisers do not want to be associated with porn. The value of the network will at some stage rely on advertizing income. It's a no brainer. I have also started a tribunal appeal for NSFW and I hope other members of the community can chip in with their views on this too.

Yes, that's a fair summary I think. Right now, with scant trading options, there is no way for Narrative to reach a healthy volume of trading, which leaves us stuck at this point of low valuation, anemic volume and the need for new alpha users to be able to purchase NRVE. Beyond stability, it offers visibility, and a positive confidence boost for the project for those who operate in the crypto sphere. Unlike you and me who see primarily the value of the project itself, with the currency as...
