Patron Niche phase, looking good

Malkazoid ·
Now that the Founder exclusivity on niches phase has been over long enough to see what's cooking next - I must say I'm really pleased to see some really great niches coming up for Patrons, and selling at minimum bid prices. A mea culpa - I feared that over-bullishness would cause all good niches to become over priced. I much prefer that people get the chance to own a niche they care about for an affordable price - there will be plenty of time for the niches to appreciate as the platform...

Is it time to open up Chaucer to new people?

Emily Barnett ·
With people trying to sell their Nerve tokens, Chaucer having an abundance of approved niches sitting idle, and new suggestions having difficulty reaching the quorum of 21 votes, perhaps it is time to consider opening up the process to new interested community members. Personally I feel the six weeks for Patrons, and the 2 months for Founders is pleanty of time to appease the ICO status of the early investors/purchasers of the NRVE token. If you haven't picked up your niches yet, it is...

Founders and Patrons: How to Earn Referral Rewards

Melanie Mathos ·
We want to make sure everyone is aware of the updates to Chaucer that will enable Founders and Patrons to earn Referral Rewards for recruiting signups to the digital waiting list. To earn rewards, you must invite people using your personal referral link. This can be found in your Chaucer profile , where you can also send email invitations and share via social media. In addition, you'll be able to track how many people have signed up via your link, how much NRVE you have earned and how close...

I agree with you here 50/50 @Emily Barnett . One part of me says open up Narrative to the masses, the other side of me says wait until NRVE is on a bigger exchange and more accessible ! "When Kucoin?" I have confidence that the team know what they are doing !

Re: Is it time to open up Chaucer to new people?

Fair point....but new people could also be voting and getting an idea of the niches that they wish to make content for. plus it just creates more ambassadors. Given that this platform is designed for the non-crypto as well, I feel that a better exchange is not as important as some people in crypto community feels it is. People need to remember that many people will never use the exchange at all and will opt to pay the 15% exchange rate and get paid in fiat. Most will feel that is just the...

Chances are that early adopters and enthusiasts will know about crypto and use it to it's advantage, especially Niche owners. But I agree that when the platform opens to the masses, they'll likely look at NRVE as a measurement of contribution value and want to get paid in fiat without even considering getting into the confusing world of blockchains. Crypto currency still appears very alien to a lot of people, even plenty of tech savvy ones.

My first thought was... it probably would not cause too much ruckus to just open it up... since the activity has slowed significantly. But then I thought... what if a bunch of newbs started jumping onboard the "work-in-progress" and started asking all the "repeat" questions that pop up over on Telegram. There'd be an entirely new round of "rinse-and-repeat" discussions... which is bound to happen when new people come in, but... let's get the thing built first. Also, if it has been opened to...

Great - really looking forward to this news @Ted . I'd read this thread a while back, but now am starting to feel the time is really upon us for the next step, whatever that is - with zero niches being bid upon, something should be forthcoming, even if it is only information. Communication remains the achilles heel of this fine project. The newsletter is a great step forwards and is top notch, but folks still remain in the dark about important matters such as this one.

I am in full agreement. I have faith that @Narrative Network Team are moving things forward in the background, but sadly this is not enough...although there has been improvements, Communication is still very much lagging behind, and now defensiveness seems to be creeping in. It is much better optics to just be way more communicative. It is what people want....information. Regarding opening up Chaucer, You guys need to do this ASAP. with there being niche suggestions that are 9 days old and...

@Emily Barnett , @Malkazoid , I totally agree with you. It seems only a few members are active in the community these days, for example at the time of writing I am the only one active, now that could be because I am in the UK and everyone is busy at work in the US or elsewhere but I doubt this very much. We definitely need something to stir up the community again, not sure what this is and maybe I just have to sit back and wait for the beta in Q3 but we also don't want to lose the amazing...

Great points made by many. I personally think that the "new people" should be invited in only after some new features have been added to Chaucer. I go to many blockchain projects only to be disappointed because the site has basically nothing there. When new folks come, they should have a very good reason to come back for more.

I think it has kept us fairly entertained. suggesting and buying niches. At the very least I would like them to invite @Holla onto the platform. the guy has been waiting in the wings for months. He wants to buy his niches...I am not aware of a valid reason for this guy to not to be invited in. He has shown a commitment to Narrative, and now he is getting turned off because of his long wait. I think he would be a better advocate if he was just allowed to suggest and purchase his five niches.

Really terrific! Very excited about the referral program being implemented. Now I shall really get busy!!! Great work @Narrative Network Team ! One tiny tiny suggestion...on the front landing page you may want to consider adding the moderators make 6% and content contributors earn 60 % pro rata like you did the niche ownership. I am making posts to complete newbies and a few already signed up. it would be helpful if the financial incentives were front and centre. My bad...I didn't read about...

Some feedback on the post ( https://blog.narrative.network...e-alpha-e5aa67c52bc6 ) "niches are communal posting areas that create unified, relevant content streams on unique topics." Is it just me or does this description of niches seem overly wordy and convoluted? I should know - I have to constantly watch myself for the same sin. Suggested replacement: "A niche is a home for content of a specific topic". I think it would pay to be as simple and direct as possible in describing this core...

As did @Emily Barnett , I started sending the sign up link to people before I dug deeper and read that referrals work via a personal referral link. It would really be helpful to inform folks of this in the original post in this thread. It could also be mentioned in: https://blog.narrative.network...e-alpha-e5aa67c52bc6 Instead, right now, the above article has a link in it to learn more about referrals, and only after following that link is it revealed that there is such a thing as a...

Hi. On the referral link that we are given, there is no info about Narrative. nothing...many of the people I am sending this too are completely unfamiliar with the platform but are bloggers, writers etc. this seems pretty cryptic...no sort of pun intended...well maybe a little. Can you at least add a link so to the main site so people can find out more about the project. This first impression may not be appealing.

I just sent five of my contacts an invitation from the referral tool on the alpha... I was expecting to be able to add my own message to the invitation, but it just sent without my ability to preface the invite. On the Community Profile > Invitations tab, there IS a way to add a message, but no way to see the referral link... If I can invite people from both the community and the alpha, I should also be able to see the link AND add my own message to the invitation to provide some more...

Hi Bryan! You are correct in the fact that there is not currently an email preview available in the Alpha referral program nor the ability to edit. Separately, the Narrative Community is not part of the referral program at this time. Hope that helps clarify!
