So happy we have this. But I see a pretty big problem arising. Almost nothing that is listed in the moderator election from page 5 onwards has nominees. I don't think this has to do with the quality of the niches, but rather people's lack of interest to scroll past 3 pages of anything. (i think search engines prove this). Given that they are listed first come, most of the Founders have moderators and will therefore collect payouts, and almost nobody from the patrons through to this summer's...
Issues with accent mark forcing different search results. Currently a niche I’m currently bidding on to own does not appear in results without using the accent mark. The Niche Pokémon does not appear unless you type in exactly that. If for example you type in Pokemon instead, the results change. This will not only making building out community’s with there proper name difficult but may allow niches to use the accents to create duplicate niches.
when i am drafting up posts on my iphone, i easily lose content when i fiddle with the hyperlinks or adding pictures or highlighting text. is anyone else having this issue? generally the content will be there if i click back fast and than go into manage posts and open it back up to be edited again, but its time consuming and nerve wracking.
Since the Narrative beta launched last week, we've seen many people posting issues and suggestions about how Narrative functions on Narrative itself. While there is certainly nothing wrong with that, if you want to get the Narrative staff to carefully consider each issue/suggestion, this support community is actually the best place to let us know. We have lots of tools built into this support community that allow us to track, discuss, assign, and implement changes. And this is the area where...
Hi, about 10 days ago I tried to redeem 20000 NRVE. Unfortunately I made some mistakes. I added the bilaxy NRVE address to my narrative wallet instead the NEON address. Now I haven't my 20000 NRVE in any place. Not in Narrative, not in NEON, not in bilaxy. Could you help me to reset this transaction or modify it please? Thanks in advance.
I second this. I read somewhere that the Team was going to implement something to remedy this, so hopefully we'll see an improvement in the next update. I think it makes sense for some aspect of this to favor the early adopters, but not so much at the exclusion of others. Not sure what the most fair balance is. Something that would help is to have, alongside the current list, a prompt to enter some interests, that will then surface some suggestions of niches to moderate. The focus should be...
Haha - me too... I think Narrative will probably be collecting a little bit of data on people's interests at sign up time, so this can be one of the first applications of that data - show them the niches they are interested in subscribing to, but also potentially becoming moderators of.
Good on you both for scrolling through. I got to page 11 and then needed to get some stuff done. Honestly i think for the short haul providing the option to see them all categorized alphabetically is the best bet. ( the members list on the community board has a similar feature to restructure how you view the list) In this way people can get to their interests quickly. And if they want to get to the Founders 1st position picks they can click right back to the way they are listed now. But i...
ok, an update to my original post. I just read in a recent blog post from @Ted that one of the new changes to the moderator elections is the following: "Because the system always tries to fill open moderator positions, we would no longer exclude niche owners who do not have moderators in place from being paid their “niche owner” network reward allocation". This is a massive improvement, at least for while the platform is growing. So it does make my initial concern, null in void with respects...
If you win the niche, you can change it through the tribunal to just be Pokemon...chances are most people will default to typing it without the accent é anyways since many people don't know how to type it this way. Not a perfect solution but one that will get you across the finish line, if they cannot make changes quick enough.
Yeah that was my plan aswell to expidite my niches issue, however I still believe it’s something that should also be fixed for other people’s niches aswell. I’m looking so forward to the potential of this platform even if I’m a late comer and I want the best experience for everyone not just the niches I plan to own. I just happened to notice the issue due to me bidding on Pokémon but I’m betting other niches might also end up having this issue
Latecomer?? Ha you are pre-beta that makes you early! The apostrophe issue was brought up before...it may just be fixed in the next roll out. Hard to say how much time they have had for the little details. But you are amongst good company for wanting to fix the platform for all. Glad to have you here @ZeroDesigns . I have to admit...I have never played pokémon. My adult son loved it, though.
I also noticed the issue with accents in niche search results a long while ago, and posted about it on the old forums. I suggested the Pokémon niche with that accent, because that's the canonical spelling of that franchises name. And although it's perfectly fine to change the niche name to "Pokemon", I'd rather see the the Narrative team fix the underlying problem with accents in search results. It'd be better to get the root problem fixed instead of its symptoms, and by that I mean going...
Well I won the niche a few minutes ago, and brought up the change to the tribunal, I agree @Slaz I also would like to see the fix it overall instead of a bandaid however outside of some autocorrects or descriptions on Pokémon (Pokémon website oddly comes up as pokemon.com) the apostrophe will do more harm then good under the current system.
I agree. After all, content needs exposure and it'd be a shame if people can't find it because of a single character. And good job winning it, I'll gladly nominate myself as a mod. I've been hoping of someone owning that niche before beta launch!
As long as the personal information is for you and not your cousin, that is fine. You'll want to be sure to read this before you submit your documents. https://community.narrative.or...request-doesn-t-fail Supported documents are Passport, Driving License (cannot be temporary) and National Identity Card (also must not be a temporary)
Hi Katherine, Narrative saves your drafts every 10 seconds while you are working on them. If you lose your place don't hit back. Your browser might lose your work. Instead jump back into your drafts list under manage posts and you should find your draft almost just as you left it. At worst you should only lose 10 seconds worth of work that way.
I suppose we can use the various Narrative community niches to discuss among us members the best way to present any given issue or suggestion to the support community for the greatest effectiveness in communicating the issues.
Hi @Ted I'm wondering if some members don't know, or have forgotten, the support site is a separate site and has to be logged in separately, too. On my home page the support link is visible, but on the platform, scrolling hides the footer - maybe a button that stays up top somewhere would show up better, and remind members?
Yes! This is actually a big problem. I'll try scrolling down to click on the support link, but then it loads new posts, and I have to scroll again and hope I can click quickly enough. The support community link should be on the top navigation or part of a floating sidebar, which we really need.
I posted a few days ago asking if this could be fixed ... am hoping. For now I just type the addy in , but for newer users, I think it would get more questions, issues and suggestions over here instead of on Narrative.
Absolutely, @Ted . Narrative is anyway a conversational place where issues can arise and be shaped among members, but I always try to finalize my requests/suggestions here. Sometimes it may be necessary to ask attention (not necessarily participation, of course) from the team to a conversation on Narrative (I did it myself). This should be clearly not abused and limited to serious cases.
Please go into your profile, to the Rewards tab, and select Transactions. You should see your Redemption request there, at the top of the list. Please cancel that redemption request as soon as possible or the NRVE will be sent to Bilaxy where it could be lost. As soon as it is canceled you can then change the wallet address in your profile to your own wallet. Once you have your own wallet in there you can request a redemption again in 2 days.
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
