[Feedback] To improve current forum

This is not a major flaw, but it would be easier and more user-friendly if the ''reply with quote'' is directly below ''take action'' I don't think ''report reply'' is commonly used (I hope not =x), it would be better if it replaces ''reply with quote'' position. Have any other feedback for improvement? Share it here!

I agree, its not that intuitive. And the take action tab is in RED-denotiing its for reporting bad content, then as you point out report is above post. The options should be separated. W

I completely agree too, the "take action" gives the impression of reporting a post for something inappropriate ! I only stumbled across how to reply to a particular quote by wondering how others had replied and started clicking around !

Understand please that these forums are not Narrative, and while we can change some of the wording via the control panel, substantive changes such as the order of the wording or placement of items are not things that are within our control. Hoop.la is produced by a sister company of Narrative and any changes made to it would be a change that would effect all of the Hoop.la customers, not just this one forum. I'll be happy to relate these comments to the Hoop.la team though.

Re: [Feedback] To improve current forum

Thanks for the clarification @David Dreezer . I think we all just want to make Narrative as good as it can possibly be. Its an advantage that Hoop.la is a sister company so we have more opportunity to suggest ideas on how to make their platform better too.

It would be great to relate these feedback! After all being user friendly and user oriented are important factors in making this platform a success. Can I ask, since this forum is not Narrative, would narrative have it's own forum? Thanks!

Yeah! ''Take action'' is too strong of a word, it does gives us the impression of a negative connotation. Maybe we can suggest a better word/ phrase

Some things on the non-crypto related parts of the platform, such as: -How UI design elements are considered. -As well as more on underlying software/web technologies that will power it. The majority of users will eventually just want to socialize through their personal journal and post content to Niches and reply to others, so an intuitive UI is key. They may not even know what a blockchain is, and may get to see NRVE as a simple rewards system without caring that it's a key element that...

Feedback on niches from Google+ land

Malkazoid ·
Hi all, So it has been eye-opening already, this little foray into Google+ land. I've gleaned so far that to some folks, there's resistance to the notion of having to pay for niches, which is compounded by the seemingly high NRVE prices of niches, and confused further by the fact that those prices fluctuate alot from auction to auction. People are coming away underwhelmed from their visit to the alpha, and there are multiple layers to the problem. Paying for niches I too was initially turned...

Hi @Malkazoid - thanks for digging in on this subject. Narrative isn't really a "blockchain project" anyway. We use blockchain only for the cryptocurrency- the currency of the network. The rest though is not blockchain and does not require proof of work or any other type of blockchain "proof". We're of course following many of the principles of blockchain regardless of the underlying technology. Specifically, the goal is to be as transparent as possible and to give all members autonomy-...

Thanks @Ted . So any means you folks can think up to make some of your points more readily apparent to fresh alpha users could help. Regarding the cost of niches, and publications - that's only relevant to community and group owners on other platforms - but they are very important to us because they are influencers. When a community from those platforms chooses Narrative, they are going to bring with them hundreds, thousands, and sometimes hundreds of thousands of their members. So please do...

Spot on @Erik Blair . We're not any closer to answers to many of those questions, than when the first niches were bought right at the beginning of the Alpha. I think our resource documents are due for a refresh. Some of them have outdated stats being reported (for instance our how-to-guide for buying crypto dates from July and mentions 1000 users in the Alpha - we're now close to 6000). But mostly, they should be refreshed to provide as much clarity on some of these questions, as possible. I...

The hurdles I see, and perhaps this is another topic entirely, is not the $75 entry fee per niche, it's the unknown effort avenues and unknown ROIs that are, well, unexplained in layman terms. 1. The $75 entry fee per niche is fine so long as the niche owners are not tasked with ever-increasing responsibilities for little to no ROI or even any model of future ROI. Paying for niches using Crypto is also problematic (riddled with hassles). But because of the mysterious 'next phases' during the...

That's smart, and I think it is all we can expect our friends on Google+ to do. Join the Alpha, take a small stake with perhaps one niche, build their reputation a bit, and see how things pan out. I think the publishing aspect is going to be Narrative's own implementation, but I would be very surprised if the style deviates very much from Medium's. But that's just me hypothesizing.

Once I know more about what the publishing platform will look like (praying Narrative has partnered with Medium), I may consider doing all three, Niche Owner, Niche Moderator, and Niche Content Creator--to diversify and expand my Narrative portfolio. But at this point, I have established my virtual foot in the door and await further info before I march forward into prosperity

Feedback from a niche owner I introduced to Narrative

Malkazoid ·
Over the past 12 months, I've been wavering about whether the current execution of the platform is of a standard to warrant reaching out to people about Narrative. After the recent release, I've reached a conclusion - trying to involve other people with the project currently is almost certainly a waste of time, and a waste of that precious first impression. Denis Wallez became aware of Narrative when I started posting about the project on G+. I've had a number of exchanges with him on G+...

Great post @Malkazoid . As the second most active person on the BOTH Narrative platforms, I very much concur with what he has said. One, only has to immerse themselves in another burgeoning community similar to Narrative, to understand immediately, how it is universally understood that pay-to-play or specifically pay-to-say, is not the way to get to mass adoption, in the early stages. @Narrative This isn't a game. It isn't am experiment. Many of us gave you real money out of our real lives.

@Malkazoid - thank you for sharing your thoughts, and in particular for making public your discussion with your friend. My initial impression of Narrative was that the platform felt very disconnected from reality, and my experience since then has not changed that. I get the impression that the Narrative Team has fallen in love with their own vision, and isn't seeing the 'visuals' they are creating. At this point, I am not promoting Narrative, because I can't make a compelling argument for...

I concur with your findings @Malkazoid and @Emily Barnett . My experience with Narrative has been to walk through the entire concept from a layperson's perspective, and the endless struggles from early adoption to each new phase of discovery of even more unnecessary, unexplained complexities, and more pay-to-play schemes (like the dual competing platforms of Narrative Niche Content and Publications for example). Hey - Well I can see why you're sharing the information of Denis' followers, but I was somewhat deliberately not making an issue of that for two reasons. a) I did not know he had that many followers until fairly recently and it is not why I initially engaged with him. Finally, I got around to reading the discussion. Denis does make some good points, despite going too far in his accusations. Like @Banter , I don't get the flak over paying for validation. It's a minor issue compared to other user experience issues. Some things could change on that end perhaps, but unowned niche content is a much bigger issue, IMO. Bigger than that even, is not listening to your Alpha testers. It seems like there are quite a few early Alpha testers who are upset about some...

There has also been some talk about attracting content creators from Google+, since that platform is shutting down. I don't really know how feasible this is. I think it would actually take some investment... possibly ads specifically targeting Google+ users. In any case, it represents a one-time opportunity to attract people with established followings looking for a new home. But it won't work if those users come to Narrative, only to find that there is no place for their content.

Hi @Robert Nicholson , I agree that it is potentially a great opportunity to reach people looking for a new home. I mean it could go one of two ways, these people will check out Narrative and say, "hey, I have a following that I want to monetize, or I don't have many followers and I just post occasionally for fun." If you have someone with a moderate to large following and they are looking to monetize their content (because why wouldn't they??), purchasing a Niche or two that they write...

Dear Gord, you are right, these things will take some time, but on the other hand, such an opportunity like getting so many people on board right now, should be taken. Once these people have found a new social media home, they will very likely stay there and it would be much harder to introduce them to Narrative. We must act now and we need the support of the team, they could provide us with some kind of official template, which states that Narrative explicitly welcomes google+ users and...

Again, let's not put the cart too far ahead of the horse. Garnering interest is one thing, but talking about converting hundreds of thousands of people is premature IMO, being that nothing has even been published yet. Why not take the next couple months to internally test things and then start crafting strategies for truly building the community. Take in mind that about 15 years ago Facebook was being beta tested within a single campus. I want to see Narrative kick off as much as anyone, but...

I posted an article on Medium recently and I already earned $19. It is the nomination page. You'll see where it says " Nominate yourself, and make your pitch." at the top. It is in preparation for when there will be elections. Makes sense to get people to nominate themselves and be listed as available to vote on BEFORE the election, does it not? It wouldn't make sense to open nominations after the elections start.

Hi Erik - I'm sorry this is a rough patch in the ride for you. I've had a couple along the way too. As I understand it, the Team is being prudent when it comes to reputation. The reputation system is very young still - which is not quite the same thing as concluding it has 'problems' beyond those one should expect from a young system designed to respond to a living, evolving system. It needs to be put through its paces, and for live experience with the algorithms to shed light on whether it...

Hello, it would be appreciated to have as a feature the ability to see who put like or unlike in narrative posts. This is because it creates more transparency on those who comment in a way and provides different feedback (Example: "How nice the post I liked it very much!" - Unlike on the post). Furthermore, being able to respond to a comment in particular with a nice "answer" button under the comment would not be a bad thing ...
