Bitpaction

HI, This exchange is a sleeping giant. Anyone here should get on this site and buy some BPS--they are airdropping like crazy all sorts of tokens. NRVE choice was a far sighted one. Have patience, I am trying !

I created an account with them yesterday and it surprised me how quick and clean the interface is. Hats off to them! Also, they already dropped me some free BTK just for signing in.

Hmm - I have to revise my positive impression of this exchange somewhat. After signing up, I realised they don't have a NEO/ETH pair! Having seen that NEO was on the exchange, I assumed there would be NEO/BTC and NEO/ETH. Isn't that pretty much standard procedure, to offer the two largest market cap coins to trade against other coins? (Real question). I got on Telegram and asked: "Hey guys, what about an NEO/ETH pair?" They answered: "Our devs constantly searching what trading pairs need to...

Small update: I was able to buy some extra NRVE on Bitpaction. I'm sure I'm not the only one - but probably worth broadcasting this a bit if some folks out there are wondering. The experience was smooth enough. Only thing I would have appreciated was an email from the exchange telling me when my order was filled. I checked back today, more than a week after placing the order, and saw the order had been filled, but it would have been nice to get an email. With the Bitpaction telegram being...

This is not a recommendation of one exchange over another but I did also make some trades on Bitpaction. I try to do all of the exchanges that list us so that I can do at least some level of assistance if asked. I found Bitpaction to be easy enough to get in and out of. I received an email to alert me of a coin withdrawal when I moved my tokens to my wallet, but I can confirm that I also did not receive a notification that my purchase completed.

Yes - I have the same question as David. They aren't admitting to any hacks on their Telegram, as far as I can see. They're also doing a TERRIBLE job of communicating about this. The actual exchange site says nothing of the problems - the only thing you can see on their site is that you can't withdraw any currencies right now, but zero explanations of why people's funds are inaccessible to them. Inexcusable. On Telegram they are cheerily saying they are down for maintenance and that an...

Ok - so Bitpaction is back in action (probably has been for days - I just don't check often). I was able to withdraw with no problems today. Not sure if they were ever hacked or just had some technical issues, but everything is working smoothly now. I've just nudged them on the ETH/NEO pair, and also suggested a NEO/NRVE pair which would be handy considering NRVE is a NEP5 token, and many people wanting NRVE will be NEO holders either since the ICO, or because they became aware of Narrative...

hi bitpaction---scam that just exited with over 1 million NRVE. bitebtc has never approved anyone yet received all our data and ID's. Octaex--is now a blank page. ALL exchanges that we have had to put up with have been scams and now our token is worth next to nothing. A scammer holders over 1 million . when will you pay for an exchange or are you hoping for the low volume DEX's to save us? I am regretting this............

Hi Whitmal, I share your concerns and I'm also disappointed the @Narrative Network Team hasn't made every effort to warn all Narrative members about the situation with Bitpaction. The appropriate action would have been to email the entire mailing list about this, informing everyone to not use the exchange anymore, and to attempt to withdraw any funds on it. The failure is manifest in that you, a community member, are the first to post in this forum about the situation - not the Narrative...

Re: exchanges

@Whitmal - Bilaxy can be used. A couple members have reported easy KYC and success in getting NRVE through the exchange and into their wallets. A new exchange is expected to be announced July 16.

Re: exchanges

NOPE.....its not on coinmarkecap. Bilaxy is a Chinese possible scam site all over again. Price is about to drop under 1 cent................... NOT on CMC is a NO GO. How long do we have to suffer with this? Do not think DEX exchanges will save NRVE they have very little volume.

Re: exchanges

Another thing is Bilaxy not having BTC trading pairs. I'll wait before considering to buy another niche. Either until CC payments are accepted or a better exchange gets supported.

bitpaction closing

Dear users: Due to the poor management of the company and the loss of accounts by attack during this period, the website could no longer maintain normal operations. The trading function will be permanently closed on July 13th of this month, the withdrawal channel will be reserved. Please withdraw the remaining tokens as soon as possible. The entire server will be permanently closed on July 15th of this month.

Community Alert: Users Urged to Withdraw Funds from Bitpaction

Melanie Mathos ·
Bitpaction is currently not accepting new deposits, and we have heard some complaints about the exchange. Because Bitpaction has not publicly addressed the issues raised by some of its customers, we recommend that users withdraw their NRVE tokens from that exchange. Hopefully, Bitpaction will address whatever issues they are currently experiencing, but until that time we urge extreme caution in dealing with that exchange. As a general best practice, it is never advisable to store funds on an...

Ouch. The only reason I used Bitpaction in the first place is because of the Narrative "how-to" article. How will Narrative address niche auction payments impacted by the Bitpaction issue?
Reply

Re: Community Alert: Users Urged to Withdraw Funds from Bitpaction

MOLLY O ·
@mdcarlson - our hope that is that most people who are bidding on niches this week already have NRVE. In the case that someone bid prior to having NRVE and they win the auction (and they dont want to use Bilaxy), they have 72 hours to pay. If they cannot pay, the niche goes back to be available for auction. They can bid again in a week. As @Melanie Mathos noted above, we will have a couple of options to pay in about a week.

To be honest, I never completely trusted Bitpaction after they were unresponsive to emails and replied on Telegram support with generic responses. That could be due to the Chinese staff being unfamiliar with English language, but whatever. Luckily I trusted my intuition and always had withdrawn currency as soon as an exchange order was completed.

Just want to follow up on @Slaz comment/public service announcement, because that is always best practice. You should never leave your funds sitting on an exchange; you should always just do your business and pull it back out into a wallet that you control.

Re: Community Alert: Users Urged to Withdraw Funds from Bitpaction

mdcarlson ·
Agree with the best practice, unfortunately I made my initial deposit of just enough NRVE for a bid on a niche only a few hours before their implosion. :-( I get that this is an alpha service. However, you are only as good as the partners you depend upon (and recommend). They become part of your brand, too. No worries. Fail fast and move on.

If I read @Melanie Mathos post correctly and I quote "Around July 16th, NRVE will be listed on a new exchange. The exchange is listed on CoinMarketCap and currently averages between $10-20 million per day in transactions. We will have more details on the exchange once we get closer to the listing date."

WE NEED A FORK

Whitmal ·
hi, 1. bitpaction exit scammed with ;NEP-5 tokens have not been liquidated. The wallet with stolen assets currently contains: 15,407,530 TOLL 1,135,000 NRVE 2. One of the largest holders is now a hacker... his wallet is seen on Neo tracker. 3. Can we fork him out or have him blacklisted for deposits? 4. What steps is the team taking to deal with this issue?

Re: WE NEED A FORK

Rosemary ·
We have had no-one come to us to tell us that their NRVE has been stolen. We do not control the NEO blockchain and thus, could not "do a fork" even if we wanted to do so. We are not responsible for anyone's funds or exchange activity.

Re: WE NEED A FORK

hi I really hope this project exceeds. I think you need to hire a crypto advisor. You guys lead everyone to three bogus exchanges in a row instead of buying into a known one. Now we see the new idea for Credit Card niche purchases with the caveat that the team will take the money and buy tokens with the cash on exchange---this is beyond strange to me. I think this plan devalues nrve and has some strange tax implications for both the team and the purchaser using a credit card.

Re: WE NEED A FORK

Malkazoid ·
Hi Rosemary, I think Whitmal has a very valid point regarding the NRVE in the hacker account. It doesn't really matter if nobody reports the tokens stolen to you - if we can prove with certainty that 1,135,000 NRVE were transferred away from the exchange to a single account as part of the fraudulent activity, then we know that those NRVE tokens are in the hands of the scammer/hacker. That's all that matters. We should then do anything within our power to neutralise those tokens, otherwise...

Sorry if my original response was too brief/terse...it's been a busy day here! We do as much due diligence/vetting as we can, using all available information, during the exchange listing process. What we want above all is a stable, secure resource where our community can buy and sell NRVE to support their activities within Narrative. That's the whole goal, so when we have events like Bitpaction or Octaex going dark, of course it's concerning to us. It's also frustrating because we have...

Hey Whitmal, If the team buys NRVE with fiat spent on niche purchases, how does that devalue NRVE? The same amount of NRVE is being bought, theoretically, as it would be if the niche buyer bought NRVE directly? Can you spell out more precisely the tax implications? I don't see how things change for the buyer - they have spent money, which they can either choose to declare as a business expense, or not. From the platform's perspective, they received fiat, which they then bought NRVE with -...

The only drawback of creditcards would be that the transaction fees go to the CC’s company, which doesn’t benefit crypto. For the users it wouldn’t be that different. Maybe CC payments will be even cheaper depending on the exchanges withdrawal fee for NRVE.

Thank you for taking the time to give this matter the attention it really deserves. It is a big deal, even though we all agree the priority is to keep eyes on the main target of launching a successful platform. I'd like to accomplish at least determining that people have indeed lost NRVE. Not being aware of anyone losing NRVE is not evidence that nobody lost any, so I'd quite simply like to ask folks: have you lost any? Hi @Malkazoid ! First of all, thank you for your passion and sentiment. We really appreciate how deeply you care about the project If people did indeed lose NRVE by way of Bitpaction, it's definitely an unfortunate circumstance. Yesterday in Telegram, one person mentioned not being able to access their NRVE now that Bitpaction is shut down. It seems likely that some people lost some NRVE in the...

@Malkazoid I've indeed used Bitpaction, 2 times for a BTC/NRVE order and once for a BTC/NEO order. Last order I made with them was about 2 weeks before the exchange ate itself. All that was left on my account was some BTC & NEO dust that was far lower than their withdrawal fees. As for NRVE being stolen, I do agree and also believe that the wallet posted above is owned by Bitpaction. At least some of that NRVE would be from their users that didn't withdraw. Maybe someone in the community...

I only had about 35 NRVE left on there which was under the withdraw threshhold anyway. Consolidated all I could into TOLL, withdrew everything and then played with the leftover pennies to see if the exchange still worked from time to time. That's how I ended up minus the 35 or so. Not personally worried about that little bit.
