@Emily Barnett Great question. I'm kind of sitting back watching it all and I'm very fascinated by it. The whole Niche thing keeps me the most surprised, I had no idea Niches would cause so much frustration for so many. If you read the white paper Narrative is so much more than just the Niches. Maybe the team should LEAK some other aspects of the platform. MR.GS
In some ways it hugest social study, ever. It's been a fun to see how people discuss all of the principles behind Narrative, and then each little detail - in great detail. It's been a blast to see how people attack their niche decisions. Before the Alpha I was wondering will they go as huge and broad as possible, or do they narrow it down as tightly as they can? Will a lot of people jump in as soon as possible and try to nail their niche? Or wait on it and wait till the founders run out of...
It shouldn't be such a surprise. Niches are what we're focusing on now. Its the whole point of Chaucer, and the only aspect of Narrative that is in existence in any shape or form. It is also the aspect many people are most interested in, if they are the connector/entrepreneur type of contributor. I'm not surprised some people aren't interested in niches... We've all got different plans for what we would like to bring to the network (thankfully).
I agree @Dias Flac that is a bit too rich for my blood. who knows what an annual ROI will be at this point. I am a Patron not an owner so the forced bystander status, is proving to be helpful. Learning without spending my money.
The downvoters have got me stumped. There are three users (2 Founders and 1 Patron ) that consistently reject completely reasonable Niches . I appreciate @Emily Barnett taking the time to explain her downvotes. I have been doing the same. If my understanding is correct, the Niches that are horribly named, will have a chance to be 'edited' for clarity after the auction is over. I had typed up a new Niche suggestion, calling it " Niche Voter Eduction for Founders " and then described the...
Hahaha don't worry about it! There's one in particular that I'm not a fan of who has made one of the niches im eyeing to skyrocket in price. The same individual downvoted my niche suggestion and upvoted a niche that was clearly a duplicate already. -.-
Hi Emily To answer your questions am I too! and Yes I am very much fascinated how this is all evolving and the coversations seem to be flowing so fast!! What is keeping me most attentive is the potential how this is building up and how we can be developing somthing which I hope with stand the test of time and I can give to my son I am surprised the speed of the chat and how everything is growing so fast and as we are now moving into the third stage of niche selection and then we can also...
It is very exciting @Harj ! I am finding myself constantly checking in on the niches and conversations. I hope there is some sort of posting version in the alpha version that will allow us to begin writing some content for our niches. It would be great to harness this enthusiasm while having some content in place when the beta version opens in the 4th quarter. I am sure the core team has thought of this already.
I agree! For a few moments, I thought it was Malkazoid from here. Articulate, to- the-point, positive. But at the end, the YouTuber says he doesn't have NRVE and wants to get in at the beginning. I hope he does. If Lo Key Money *IS* here I'd love to connect with him.
Hope you guys like my latest video it was based on the telegram chat so yeap it covered exhanges! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwF5GOkmlKQ hope to do another one very soon comparing Steemit to Narrative
@Dr. Rick I might be wrong, but I am sure I have read some of your blogs on the internet, would you be able to promote Narrative through a blog or video? You seem very passionate about Narrative, it would be great to spread the word to your community.
Ha ha @RobbyCannard , this is the first community I have joined in crypto, I still consider myself a newbie ! Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to make a video, so for now I'm happy to contribute in this blog but will leave the videos to the experts
Apologies @Dr. Rick , there is quite a prolific blogger with your name! Welcome to Crypto, you are extremely lucky to be involved in Narrative as one of your first communities. I am no expert but if you need any assistance, feel free to contact me and I will do my best to advice you. I'd also advise joining the Telegram group if you haven't already, this is a great place to pose questions to the community. Good Luck
@Dr. Rick I bit the bullet last night and created my first Crypto video...Scared the crap out of me...Vintage fashion is a much more comfortable area for me to make content, but I figured we gotta commit to getting the word out so i did it...My channel is called The Content Entrepreneur, same as my niche....Thanks to @Michael Farris for inspiring me on the name. Anyway working on the editing. I will have the first 2 videos posted in a day or two. I have been watching @harj and LO KEY Money.
I am not worthy of such praise: all the work is still ahead... But thank you! I have some time scheduled in a couple of weeks, to make a Youtube video. Folks have been offering some really good items for me to include in what gets covered: https://community.narrative.ne...ideo-about-narrative
@Malkazoid , not sure if you know how to do this already, on the left side of the page there are 2 arrows. one pointing up and one pointing down. you would now just click either one depending whether you agree or not. And in between the arrows are the number of people that have voted. Hope I was able to help. I'm not sure if there is a way to vote on everything at one time yet.
https://www.thunderclap.it/howitworks With thunderclap you can make a post about something. People can link it to their social medium like Facebook. Next when the deadline is reached there is a Clap, hence the name, and all linked media post the same thing at the same time.
Thank you for the explanation. @Xiffix I am new to reddit....I am one of those people who need a nicer looking interface...does that make me shallow. But I will commit to reddit now...It seems to be an important part in promotion.
Thunderclap is not connected to reddit, or do you see reddit as another social network? Thunderclap is used to make a big impression on a lot of people. The big difference between Facebook(twitter, Instagram) and Reddit in this instance is that Reddit does not have followers or something of the kind, Reddit is a weaker version of Narrative in my eyes. Facebook has followers of some kind. When I post something it reaches totally different people compared to when @Emily Barnett should post...
Thanks again for the second clarification....i will follow the link you provided in a sec. No need to apologize...I am female and in some things (most things) you are right we do need aesthetics more...somethings not as much. I always thought of reddit as an aggregator site; just to promote links to other sites. Not as much as a content platform in itself. Perhaps I have new discoveries there. Narrative I see more as a social media content platform Ok. Thunderclap it is!
Thanks, David - Hi, Everyone! Thunderclap was on our mind as well yesterday. It's a great tool - unfortunately, due to the recent update to Twitter's TOS, Thunderclap no longer supports campaigns that are commercial in nature. On the case and gathering other tools that may be a better fit both short and long-term.
It's not difficult - Facebook and other social media platforms have rules and you can be taken down by someone with some malicious intent. Also, I went about contacting and cultivating relationships with content creators who have huge followings on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter and they work their behinds off and they are all jumping at the thought of actually getting something for their hard work besides the plug here and there. As to traffic, it really isn't all that difficult to poach it...
I personally almost don't use facebook anymore. I think it embodies the very opposite of what I am striving for, as a content creator. However, as a niche owner, I might consider setting up "lighthouses" there for the niches I own. By this, I mean minimalistic pages with niche description and redirect links, just to stir some traffic away from there. I consider Twitter far more powerful and useful, with its open-ended nature and mass appeal. As a musician and music producer, I already have a...
I don't think Narrative is anywhere near close to being like steemit. There are a lot of differences. First and foremost which will be a make or break is the fact that narrative shouldn't allow those stupid bot nets. I don't think we should worry about steemit and our network is actively working on taking people away from there, which isn't too hard for anyone who is serious about their content. Many of them have discords etc in order to keep track of their groups.
Funny thing... I had stopped using Steemit because it just wasn't doing it for me, but learned about Narrative on the 'Steemit' Subreddit, since I hadn't unsubscribed yet. I plan on using Reddit extensively to bring in Narrators.
Twitter and Facebook have coexisted, I don't see why Steemit and Narrative can't coexist and even benefit from each others existance. That being said, steemit really needs to get it's communities function in order and get rid of those bid bots. I will be using both and I'll put more time into the one that has a more vibrant community and where my work is most appreciated.
It's very interesting to follow this discussion (thank you). My "not weighing in" is not "my not reading carefully." !! The competition will be real. There were lots of social media platforms. Why did MySpace, then FB, then Twitter, then Instagram, then XYZ take off? Others faded quickly. Some is organization, some is marketing $$, some is timing. A lot is getting the right concept for the right moment and the right crowd. I like the Civic concept and wish it well. Journalism could use a...
