Search glitches

Malkazoid ·
Hi, I'd noticed the search engine was weird sometimes, but finally I have a very clear cut case that can illustrate at least an aspect of the problem, simply. Search for the word 'baseball', with the filter set to 'Everything'. You will get a list of niches that have the word 'baseball' either in the name or the description. So far, so good. Now switch the filter to 'Niches' and hit the search icon again. ZERO RESULTS. Let me know how you go.

Additional Image Functionality Within Posts

Hey Everyone! I'm glad to see the beta launch going so well. I had some thoughts about adding an image editor to the main post editor. The idea would be that when you select an image, not only would you have the ability to add a caption, and a hyperlink, you could click an 'editor' button that would bring up a more powerful yet simplified photo editor. The functionality that I was thinking would be: 1. Flip 2. Rotate 3. Crop 4. Resizing 5. Draw 6. Add Text within the image 7. Invert 8.

Better Search Filtering and Sorting

We need to be able to filter searches to order results by date, niche, or popularity, and we need to be able to filter search results to our own content (or another user's content) only.

Content Type filters for all feed pages

(This was originally a comment on a post about low-quality content, spammy niches, and unintentional voting circles . @David Dreezer kindly changed it to its own post so I could make it an official suggestion.) I will readily admit that, a few weeks ago, I stopped posting long form content (except for a few posts about Narrative itself) and started posting in the UVC niche you didn't fully redact in your post here. (Although the voting circle was something I intended to benefit...

Just to add a little followup, I'd still like for the search function to interpret accents (é, å, etc) as their related character in the latin alphabet. For example, searching for "pokemon" gives me all niches related to that franchise except for the one simply called "pokémon". That's the canonical spelling of the franchise name, but everyone including myself who does a quick search neglects that accent. Therefore, the "pokémon" niche is unnecessarily hard to find for potential buyers.

As now mentioned countless times, the unfair and unmanaged coexistence of different types of content is a major problem, and maybe the most important of the platform, in my opinion. Different types of content - with undifferentiated metrics and presentation - can only lead to unfair competition with easy-to-consume content prevailing. I already suggested three months ago different post types, coming with a length (number of pictures, minutes, ...) appropriate to the prevailing post type:...

Hi. @David Dreezer There are still several user pages that don't show up at all on the Search results pg. For example, try searching for @rocksg or @troyanche . These profiles clearly exist but don't show up.

Just an updated observation as I realise this isn't in the initial post I made. When searching for an exact word used as a niche name, the search throw up heaps of results containing that word, before finally showing the exact match itself. For instance, try searching for 'travel'. The travel niche is listed far far down in the list. This is very counter intuitive. Should be an easy fix? I also think that if the user has not switched on a user, post, or niche filter, the system should show...
