And one more thing from me, promise the last one and I'm off ;) I think someone suggested something like that somewhere but I can't find it... Can we please have a notification button on the platform (like the bell on FB and Medium) where we can see who commented/liked/followed etc? At present we get notified via email but I'd like to turn this off - there are already way too many emails coming in from all directions!
Since we don't get notified of comments on content we've published unless someone specifically tags our username in the comment, can we do something about that? I don't necessarily want an email telling me every time someone comments on my posts, but if we had something like the community support alerts on the beta, that would be fantastic. If that's going to take a while to roll out, could we get a simple display of how many comments each post has, both when browsing the content feeds and...
I often appreciate an article but don't have a meaningful comment to leave, or have no time for it. Still, I'd want the writer (or others) to know that I appreciated. Votes are now anonymous and I get that negative votes should remain so. But why not making up-votes public or at least notify the writer? A vote up is an engagement tool too, and the engagement opportunity is lost with the anonymous vote.
Remove Voting on Post or Comment Sometimes accidentally we might vote on any post or comment which we don't want to. Now current voting system is irreversible, so either we have to leave it as it is or someone might prefer to down vote it later on. (depends on whatever they want to prefer) How about to have a remove vote option by clicking on it again? For both, upvote and down vote on post/comment. Editing Notification on Post or Comment After 1st trial, we might need to edit our posts or...
Here's what we are working on, for release over the next month or so: 1. Support for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for accounts. 2. Support for Redeeming Narrative Rewards: As stated previously, you will be able to redeem rewards starting sometime in July. 3. Notifications/Digests: We'll be adding more ways for you to be notified about new content/comments. There are many other smaller improvements and bug fixes coming as well. We'll have more details on our blog once we get closer to the...
For some posts, we're not interested in following discussions in the comments, but for other posts, this is extremely useful. Like it's available in the Community, a "follow" flag - that would fire notifications about all comments on a post that is not by us - would be good.
Narrative have to add e new option to everyone can see the notification yes you send email but in Narrative if you will add is Notification option it is very helpful to us to check the Notification Thanks a lot to Narrative team.
I lost out on possible niche ownership because I never received notification the auction had started. I was following the niche and got a notification the auction was ending in one hour. When I saw it, it was too late. Auction was over. So ... either your notifications system has a glitch and some notifications aren't being sent or you don't have it programmed to notify niche followers that an auction is starting.
Hello all, Right now, the only way to know there has been a new comment on a post, is if you are tagged by it. It seems intuitive that Notifications will include a post's author being able to receive notifications if a new comment appears on their own post. While Notifications are still in the design and development phase, I'd like to suggest we include the ability for any Narrator to subscribe to be notified of new comments on any post. This will greatly increase engagement and facilitate ...
We can currently miss all of the comments to our posts, if users don't pay attention to mention us. I get a notification if they mention me in a comment, but only in that case. That's inconsistent and a missed opportunity of engagement. The "someone commented" (my post or niche submission) feature is more than a suggestion, considering that every other platform has those notifications and that there's no other way to systematically check those comments.
This somewhat relates to my suggestion for stats on the "Manage Posts" display ( https://community.narrative.or...tats-on-manage-posts ) I'd like to see number of views, number of comments, number of votes, and rating for each of my posts. Stats on "Manage Posts" Stats on "Manage Posts"
Or maybe make it optional for the voter whether an upvote is anonymous or visible to the writer. I agree that commenting isn't always convenient, and being able to at least contribute upvotes in a more personal way is a good idea @Vico Biscotti
Yes notification on Upvote is very much needed in narrative..As narrative is community driven content network. In community we must know who appreciating me and how our contents engage with other. Thanks for sharing.
For Narrative to be a real "community" I do think there should be more visibility on who votes for whom. This enables users to connect and engage better with one another. This also allows readers with similar interests and appreciation for an author to connect with one another. Some type of visiblity and notification would be very helpful for community building and networking.
I think this is a good idea as well. I would like to be able to see who appreciates my content and be able to check out that person's content in return. And even if you leave a comment on a post, that person doesn't know if a vote was actually given or not.
I definitely would prefer to have notifications on the site itself, and the top right corner seems fairly standard on other sites. I would also like to see notifications for comments on your posts that don't mention you by name, and notifications for when one of your posts gets the blue "Quality" star. It would also be nice to be able to "Follow" a post by another creator, which would give you notifications about comments on that post so that you can better follow the conversation.
Dear Ted, great to see further improvements! May I add that experts in the SEO field @RNicholson and @gardengnomepubs made several very important suggestions in this post? https://www.narrative.org/post...rrative-seo-improved I think these points they mentioned are crucial for Narrative mass adoption, please have a look at it. Thank you indeed!
I can see why you suggested this! This has happened to me a couple of times, where I changed my mind and wanted to withdraw my upvote, and just leave it as no vote. I think the difficulty with this may lie in how rewards are computed. If you withdraw your vote after the rewards have been paid out, does the writer then owe the platform a small amount of money to be deducted from the next earnings? Could get messy...
@BloggerKrunal , I agree on the possibility of removing votes. But @Malkazoid is right about rewards. In my opinion, after rewards have been calculated, the removing of the vote could anyway be useful. Of course, not for changing rewards, but for influencing quality metrics (of the post and of the author) and visibility. The edit notification can be tricky. A single word may be enough to change the meaning, so should fire the notification anyway, as it happens in the community. But it could...
The removing your vote suggestion was implemented with today's release. Click here for more information. In the future please limit suggestion posts to one suggestion per post. It makes it hard to mark this one as implemented or to track suggestions when there are multiple requests in one post. Please break them up and feel free to post as many as you need.
Sorry I missed your previous suggestion @Vico Biscotti . The following link does cover exactly what I was hoping for: https://community.narrative.or...y-of-following-posts @David Dreezer - if it is better for your sanity, please feel free to merge these in your database, or delete my belated duplicate.
I agree that we should have some central notification page/tab/icon that we can control. Ideally it should be controllable for every activity. From receiving no notifications at all, to just tags, comments, and/or likes. And not be like Facebook where it throws intrusive friend-activity notifications in your face that are nearly impossible to turn off without opting out of every notification type. Also, I too can confirm that I have all Email notifications suspended on Narrative but I do get...
Well, I'm reporting something different. @Gosia Rokicka suggests a notification button on the website, in the suggestion you mention, while I ask to be notified (optionally even by email) when someone comments on my posts or niche submissions.
News on this? This is still an annoying issue. Many members still don't get, or remember, that they have to mention in the comments, or their comment can go lost in the eyes of the author. Or it's easy to miswrite.
Agreed. The system should provide a screen where we can see a summary of comments, votes, etc. for posts that we've created or participated in. At the moment we're only receiving emails about mentions in comments, and so we're often missing out on conversations.
When you block a person, they can no longer invite you to a private message or post to your profile wall. Replies and comments they make will be collapsed/hidden by default. Finally, you'll never receive email notifications about content they create or likes they designate for your content.
Note: if you proceed, you will no longer be following .
