I am currently writing an article and it would be extremely helpful if it was possible to embed tweets. I've looked around but haven't seen any way to do this. I feel like this is an important feature going forward. Screenshots are a work around but doesn't suffice in my opinion. For example if wanting to link to a tweet thread, screenshotting would mess up the layout and feel of the entire article.
I tried to embed the video link from one of my Twitch VODs but the video player seems to be displaying what's live on my stream right now ... which is nothing. Is this a Twitch problem or is this a Narrative embedding problem?
I tried embedding one Twitch video on my post. It loaded the Twitch media player, but then nothing would load. I clicked "Watch on Twitch" and it opened the main page of Twitch, not my specific video. Any idea?
Hello, Is there a limit to how many videos we can embed in a post? I have a post where I want to embed 4 videos. The first three worked great. The fourth: when I enter the URL, no video gets embedded, and a newline gets swallowed up.
@Christina Gleason it looks like this is a bug with Embed.ly, as the same thing is happening on their embed tool: https://embed.ly/code?url=http...2Fvideos%2F416329674 We'll contact them to see if they can fix it, as it's something out of our control at the moment. Thanks for the report!
Ok - literally 5 seconds later, I have the answer. The videos are being embedded. They just don't show up in the draft. When I clicked save and exit, and then reentered the draft, there were five instances of the video, from all my supposedly failed attempts... stacked one after the other! So display bug?
I'll have to test it, but I'm leaning towards it took an extra few seconds to get that last video and draw a thumbnail. Do you mind putting the 5 urls in here so that I can test with the same content? We can change this to private if you're not ready to post them yet.
Hey @David Dreezer - the embed attempts were done over the course of a couple of hours, as I've been multi-tasking and dipping back into the post periodically. So probably not a refresh delay... I'll make a private ticket with a more specific and appropriate title to pass the videos to you! Won't be long.
To clarify: I grabbed random URLs from my Twitch VODs to see if I hit the 3-video limit problem, and my 4th embedded video URL displayed my "stream offline" screen instead of the video thumbnail on the post creation page. So it was still showing I was attempting to embed video, but it was not displaying the video. It's only a draft I created to see if I could replicate Malkazoid's problem, so I don't intend to publish it. But this does seem to be an issue on the Create Post page.
If VOD has a 3 post limit wouldn't you expect an offline to be displayed for the 4th? I'm confused, Christina. Let's make sure that we are on the same page. I've just grabbed 5 random videos from my youtube channel. I created a new post. Gave it a title. Then used the embed tool to one at a time, paste in all 5 video URLS. All 5 video thumbnails showed on the preview page for my draft. Is this the way you did it?
I'm not saying it's not weird, but I grabbed random videos from my Twitch channel and used the embed tool to paste the (4) video URLs in one at a time. The first three video thumbnails displayed properly. The fourth one was completely screwed up, making absolutely no sense by displaying my offline message. I don't know if it's an issue on Embed.ly's end or on Narrative's end, but I suppose I'll try to publish an actual video post and see what happens.
By the time I remembered to get around to testing how this would work on a live post, even the video previews were showing up properly on the Create Post screen. So I don't know if anyone fixed anything in the meantime, but it came out just fine: https://www.narrative.org/post...-rent-karaoke-videos
