Thoughts on what HuffPo said

Michael Farris ·
It's pretty satisfying to come across an article like Reinventing: The Social Network by Jesse Seaver He managed to sum up the Narrative network pitch as well as I've seen it anywhere Of course it's because he's a smart journalist and that's his job. But more, it works because he tapped into that gnawing concern about Social Media. So big, so powerful, so tied into all we do and what we decide. From the scourge of fake news, to growing unhappiness among the young who use it most, to the...

@Bitsurfer7 @Rushikesh I, like my unencrypted username states, am Bryan. This is my first foray in to the world of crypto-currency — or any type of investment for that matter. I think the thing that has attracted me is the end goal of the Narrative platform. I am really flexing the old brain on the content I intend to generate and any niches I might be interested in managing/owning. Community-learning and collaboration is what I'm excited about, the NRV is just bonus... and possibly...

Thinking Founders

Bryan ·
There are three definitions for the word founder | ˈfoundər |. (n) a person who makes things from metal, operates a foundry (n) a person who establishes an institution or settlement (v) to fill with water and sink, break down, to succumb Definition #2 is the one I'm talking about. Who will they be? How will their role evolve as the community takes on a life of its own? We know they will have contributed 60+ NEO in the token sale. They will have advantage of taking the first crack at Niche...

@Rushikesh "NVR"—or never —is something totally different! @Michael Farris ideas = currency. this. Also, one crazy example of an early form of monetizing a " sort of " social network that the article doesn't mention is Second Life . From their wikipedia page : In 2015 alone, Second Life users had cashed out approximately $60,000,000 (60 million US dollar) and Second Life had an estimated GDP of $500,000,000 (500 million US dollar), higher than some small countries. A friend of mine (or...

@Robert W. When that article was written, I believe that was true (the ETH part). I’m on my phone currently, so finding the link to the rationale behond the move to NEO escapes me. But NEO it is, ftw.

The article mentioned that Narrative was built off the Ethereum blockchain, I was under the impression that Narrative was a Neo Dapp. Please explain.

Thinking ROI, or, Investor Unicorns

Bryan ·
I'm sure we all wish we could travel back in time to May 22, 2010, with the added foresight to discretely accept 10,000 BTC from our man L.H. in exchange for a couple pizzas. Who wouldn't? The advantage of hindsight turns missed opportunities into a sort of regret avoidance filter through which all Present and Future opportunity-decisions must pass. We fear missing the boat . And, we fear what we might miss if we make the boat . Hence, decision time . I was talking with my wife last night...

Thanks Bryan, really like your post and your humor!! but its interesting how you have put expectations of founders but im afraid they dont have to do much after purchasing the niche and getting moderators in place oh and renewing the niche. expecting more is not in the deal. but im in the same boat as you mate will we get the niche we want... : I

Thanks for the post Mic and yes the old is falling and new models are being created as we speak and Narrative is right on it. I can see this model is picking up fast! starting with Steemit and a few others but more will come and the competition will be tough.

I find the Founder concept too narrow and financially focused to be honest, I of course understand and appreciate the economic reasoning behind rewarding those who invest the most money and who invested and backed the idea of Narrative early; I just feel the network will grow and flourish because of the content creators and the communities they shape and may end up having little to do with the person who bought the flag and stuck it in the ground. I am really excited at the prospect of a...

First, keep in mind that Niche owners shouldn't be "absentee landlords," they can contribute content to their own Niche. Regarding the auction process, Ted gave a great answer elsewhere that I'll plagiarize here since he summed it up so well: I hope that helps to clarify the thought process behind the system. We're trying to do everything we can to be transparent, fair, and user-friendly throughout the entire network. Yes, Niches like "Golf" might command a high auction price, but there will...

Full Return on ROI plus interest then invest the remainder as an interest bearing mechanism using the network niches to develop and support good content and rewards. Unicorn I guess

Yes I agree with Rose its the way it is, supply and demand, lets see how alpha goes, I would be over the moon if it all works out! how long will alpha go on for ? plus how long is the bidding process for a niche ?

I have wrote some blogs on Steemit, maybe one per week and my plan is to post at that pace also on Narrative. I really like idea of Narrative and I hope it will be fun being part of this community. Great thread! Like most people, I learned about Narrative because I was investing in cryptocurrencies. But investing is not a significant part of who I am, and when I discovered Narrative, my interest in it was immediate, and had little to do with dreams of riches. I think this is a sign Narrative has a winning attribute, if it can inspire this sort of response to it. Success generally starts with passion, not the other way around. Narrative cannot succeed long term with only the...
