The first opportunity you'll have to use NRVE tokens in Narrative will come when we release Chaucer alpha on March 29, and you have a chance to bit on owning a Niche. No way to use NRVE here in this community.
This is way off topic...just wanted to get some community feedback regarding Smart Media Tokens (SMTs). Supposedly, anyone would be able to quickly launch their own Steem like token to help monetize online content, without requiring programming skills or deep pockets. Personally, I think SMTs can be a game changer for many online publishers if it works.
Hey guys, today I'll be bidding on and hopefully winning a niche or two. I technically have enough NRVE to grab a few Niches, but I'm wondering if I need to reserve some NRVE for anything else on the platform. For example, maybe it costs 100 NRVE to appoint a moderator or 25 NRVE to make a post, I don't know haha. Most likely, I'll just end up getting one Niche anyhow, but in the best case, what if I spend all my NRVE on a few Niches?
I don't know of any other fees. But I am not an authority, and like you I am waiting to enter Chaucer. I have not read any thread about surprise fees either so I think that it is pretty transparent. hope that helps a little.
Might be handy to keep some NRVE just because as the price of NRVE goes up the cost of the minimum bids for Niches will decrease. If Neo goes back up to $150 then a minimum Bid should be no more than 100 NRVE.
thought it would be appropriate to follow Brians instruction to post questions here to get answers. Im asking today if there will be a token wrap up to show how much was raised and how many contributed at each level. TY
just want to see the issue of the tether to neo price for niche minimum. More of a principle issue of why thats still in place ? When will it will stop? As a founder, it lowers the value of my niche as well as doesn’t support the token NRVE as allows people to spend 25$ on the needed tokens not 75$ as stated in whitepaper . The reason given or not enough VOL doesn’t make sense to me . Not sure if there will be enough vol , ever . Or before open to public ? TY
Hi @christian ! We don't have anything else to add right now beyond what I've stated previously . We definitely will let you know when the NRVE calculation changes. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we execute on our marketing plan.
We don't need to leave the future of NRVE tokens up to the Narrative platform alone. You could create a new use-case for the token yourself, by either creating a platform that will use NRVE tokens, or even accepting them on a platform that already exists. Personally, I am determined to create at least one major use-case for the NRVE token, because I believe in Narrative and I want to be a big part of it's future. The possibilities are endless. And each new use-case will add value to the...
I love this. I thought the same thing when Narrative announced Native, which is by design for use by third parties. It made me wonder if others could integrate NRVE into other use cases too. Thank you speaking up on this thought - I never did! You’ve got me thinking
I think it's pretty cool that Narrative is giving us a choice between being paid in NRVE or fiat, but what if someone has a really popular niche and wants to split his/her earnings between NRVE and fiat? The reasoning: "I have bills to pay that crypto doesn't cover yet, but I also want to keep some of my earnings in crypto without having to off-ramp and then on-ramp again through an exchange."
The way it will work is that you'll be able to specify the amount you want to "cash out," whether it's in NRVE or fiat, so you'll be able to do what you're suggesting! You won't have to pull all of your rewards out at once, in either form.
How do you determine the amount of Narrative or Fiat to being paid out. Just based on the current NRVE price? Could you point me to where the process is described if someone buys a niche using fiat? Thanks.
@Holla here's the original article that describes the process for buying with fiat: https://blog.narrative.network...-easier-931d20f54fbc . If you're paying with a credit/debit card, the price will be determined by the current exchange rate for NRVE (and include a 15% convenience fee).
Check out @Ted's blog on Narrative Token Minting which provides the details of the distribution plan. This includes the minting period, how to allocate the tokens, minting schedule, and the inflation considerations.
Here is lots more information about Network Rewards - This is the absolute best description there is https://blog.narrative.network...rewards-5fc28d7bc5b3 And this will help too https://blog.narrative.network...rewards-cad2c0e08f84 And here are more technical details if you want to get into the Nitty Gritty of how it works. https://spec.narrative.org/docs/network-rewards And the short answer as to how you get involved is to - do just that. Get involved. Do referrals using your individual...
I read Ted's article. He said, " The plan is to allocate 80% for Network Rewards and 20% for referral and incentive programs [over the next 15 years]." So my question is, what are "Network Rewards" and how do I get involved in that end of the share? Thank you.
Actually the only two cases that i found to buy NRVE tokens are to buy a niche or to pay fees for Publications (if there are any others please let me know). I would like to suggest these two ideas in order to increment the NRVE token value: 1) token burn - burning tokens reduce supply therefore increase token value 2) enabling dividends of some percentage of profit when someone has a certain number of NVRE tokens (for example if someone has 10k tokens he might be able to receive dividends of...
I believe "tipping" was also under consideration, which would also keep NRVE "in house" longer. Another use for tipping would be similar to Patreon's model, of allowing readers who do not contribute content to purchase NRVE sepcifically to patronize a content creator or niche that they are interested in supporting. Even better as a subscription process. This benefits the content creator, by providing an incentive to continue to create, and the Narrative.org entity could "hold" the patronage...
@cooleen token burn means sending tokens to a non recoverable address so tokens can't be recovered causing the total circulating supply to be reduced therefore increasing the token value. For premium features i think like special insights on data for users like how many upvotes, how many post views, what was the impact on those who have viewed it or special insights for niche owners or for people wanting to sell products like which users could advertise their products with more...
Well, if Narrative introduces advertising, then like Wordpress Blogs - we might pay NRVE to keep ads off of our niches or our posts. Which would limit the NRVE in general circulation...and offer a double ended revenue stream.
Thanks @Haiaty someone more familiar with how nrve already works would have to weigh in on whether token burning is doable. Sounds like a good way to keep supply and demand in check. Think pay for data insight was already at least discussed, if not suggested - will take look and see if I can find the tread.
@Cmryer - just brainstorming, not advocating - re: ads... paying to view ads, as Brave does, would be a great way to earn NRVE. I was looking for ways to maintain the value while keeping it circulated. I don't like the concept of burn, but I understand it. I think it should be a last resort. Maybe we could establish staking cooperatives...where people could put in a smaller stake but as a group, hold a large amount which would stay out of circulation or be used to vault for other currencies.
HI @Serroc Hmmm paying to keep ads off. How popular would this be given the current trend on a lot of platforms is to pay people to view ads. Paying to place our own ads (especially niche and publication owners ads - but creators could still ante up for ads promoting their work, too) _ and viewers can opt to view or not( not get paid to view, tho-to keep rewards heading into the pool of course). And as per your tipping suggestion - viewers could also tip really creative ads?
I'm not a big fan of token burns either. I do like @Serroc 's idea to allow Narrators to pay a NRVE fee to remove advertising from their streams. We'll have to see how they look when they are rolled out. I can see some people not wanting ads. Maybe there will be a market for an ad-free experience.
