We haven't had very much discussion about Personal Journals on the community page. I was wondering if the team could give us a little more insight on the Personal Journals? I know the niches are the main focus of the Alpha launch this month but I think the Personal journals might be a big surprise on Narrative. " PERSONAL JOURNALS Every registered member in Narrative has a Personal Journal. This is their own personal Narrative, and the only content on a Personal Journal is the content by...
Great point Mr Goodsett I think the personal journal is a great place for all of us to start and get into Narrative, to develop ourselves and the ideas we are thinking about, great place to have all your followers in one place and let others comment on your actions/posts. you well be also gaining activity points from the support you have gained. in effect this really is your homepage and you should personalise it as much as you can, thats what I will be doing : )
It is interesting that the personal journals haven't been talked about much! The cool thing is that, when you write something for your personal journal, you can also suggest it for a Niche or two (it has to be "accepted" by the Niche moderator to show up in the Niche). That way you can be extending the reach of your content! Ultimately, the personal journals make it even easier to "just sit down and write!"
I think you'll have just as many Personal Journal Writers as Niche Writers (some will do both). Those that make their journal public and you can follow their daily journal will be a very interesting concept that I think will gauge a lot of interest.
The source of the content is irrelevant in determining content creator awards. It doesn't matter if the content is only listed in a personal journal, or in a niche or in a brand. If the content is popular, it will still be rewarded.
" Personal Journals cannot have moderators. Personal Journals may be suspended by the Tribunal for any reason. (And note that users may report Personal Journal content to the Tribunal." In looking at this, have there been guidelines drawn about "guidelines for suspension"?
This is exactly what I started thinking the other day. Yes, it's great to have a permanent income by just owning a popular Niche, but I am a writer. I would LOVE to make money by doing what I love instead of by just sitting there, doing nothing.
Hi Guys If you make a post on your personal journal lets say about Bitcoin would it also ask if you want to add it to the niche that you are a member of like Bitcoin so the post will be in two places your personal journal and the Niche Bitcoin ? or just one place like your Journal. ? And im guessing that when making your post it will give you that option to add ? Another way to put it is do all your posts that you make on various niches always get added to your personal journal.? Thank you.
I was reading a different post, and got a bit doubtful about this particular line that described the Personal Journals: " Personal Journals may be suspended by the Tribunal for any reason. (And note that users may report Personal Journal content to the Tribunal.) " So, let me get this straight: if somebody stumbles upon my PERSONAL content and, for any reason, decides to report it, I will be kicked out or suspended from Narrative? In the words of my beloved Charles Bukowski, "What the...
The whole goal of Narrative is to not have a backroom group mysteriously banning or deleting with no explanation. That's the system in place now, on most social networks. What we want is free expression, with some mechanism to denote content that may be NSFW, so that those who are easily offended can choose not to see that content. The Tribunal will ultimately be made up of community members who are elected (and who can be removed) by the will of the community. Hopefully they will reflect...
Thanks for clarifying this, @Rosemary . I am an advocate for freedom of speech, specially as an existential erotica writer. I do, on the other hand, condemn hate speech, and all types of violence towards an specific group of people. So, if I understand Narrative's position, you won't censure anything that doesn't crosses these kind of lines, right?
