What are Niche Moderators and what can they do?

Every Niche has at least one moderator to review and approved content suggested to be included in the Niche.  This allows us to ensure that that everything is organized correctly.  Any high reputation member can nominate themselves to be Moderators of any Niche.  Narrative members vote on and elect moderators.

Niche Moderators can do the following:

  • Review content in the Niche queue and accept or reject content. Moderators should accept content if the topic is appropriate for the Niche topic.
  • Reject content from the Niche queue if it is not appropriate to the Niche.
  • Identify and remove duplicated content in the Niche as long as the content contributor is made aware.
  • Review comments to the Niche and bury, if necessary (e.g. violate the ToS or AUP).
  • Market the Niche for content contributions.

Like all the actions in Narrative, actions taken by a Niche Moderator are logged and displayed in the interest of full transparency. If life happens and Moderators need to resign, they can do so anytime via the Moderator Center.
