I notice a number of updates to profiles this morning.  Thank you!

The reason we notified people is that a good number of winners did NOT have a NEO address in their profile.  We want to include everyone who contributed to the community.

We also realize that after a year people's addresses may have changed.  Often people lose their keys too.  It would be a shame to send NEO to an address you can't access. Hence the reminder to check your NEO address.

Are these points accumulated for activity here on community.narrative.org and nothing to do with what you have done on Narrative itself?  Or is it a combination of the two.  I've just now found out that the people I follow on Narrative and not carried over to here, I didn't realize this seems to be a whole different entity.  Am I correct in this assumption?

@blueeyes8960. Community Rewards is a separate program from what you are doing on the Narrative platform. This was a promotion for participating in what we now call the Support Community (here) and Telegram prior to launching the Beta.  So it is a "bonus" for helping out and participating prior to the beta launch. The program officially ended with the launch of the Beta - we just had to calculate the rewards.

The activities you do on the Narrative Platform (Alpha and Now Beta) are separate and make you eligible for Narrative Rewards to be allocated and distributed as credits in the system.

Hopefully, this helps clarify.

Hello,

I keep receiving emails saying that my address is not on the profile (it is there since the beginning). Should I worry?

I have not seen the text of the latest email that went out, but the last one that I did see said

Right now, we need you to check that your NEO address is in your Community Profile.

https://community.narrative.ne...er-cp/update-profile

If it's done already, thank you. If it's missing, fill it in.

Therefore, I'd think that if it is already in there, you should be set.  You should double check and be sure that the email address here in community matches the address that these messages are coming to,  just to be sure.

The list was finalized on Friday so ready to go likely this week. There are a few details only the dev team can handle in the distribution.

I will send out a notification email so you can watch for it in your NEO address.

Hi Michael. Any updates on this? It's been a while now. Thanks!

The distribution is underway but running into some speed bumps as we process the scripts.  I'll post a reply here as soon there is better progress to report.  When everything is confirmed, an email will go out to all recipients.

I apologise for the delay.  It has been slower than expected.

Good News!

The 100K NRVE distributed as Community Rewards is complete. For those of you interested in the public record of the transactions, here it is. 187 transactions.

Thank you all for supporting the Community here and our Telegram Channel.  You deserve your rewards. Your NRVE  is the currency of a new content economy where the community owns the greatest share of the revenue.

Stay tuned for more news about Narrative Rewards going out on or before June 15th.  This is an entirely new distribution of NRVE for contributing Narrators at www.narrative.org

Those receiving Community Rewards today will have an email shortly.

Sorry, @Vico Biscotti, before you joined us.

The link to the rules was in Michaels post but I'll link them again because they are easily missed.

For you, the important part was

  • Phase 2 : When Narrative Beta Launches - all activity through that date

Which was April 2,  and therefore before you joined us.

Than you for being here though!

I joined November 8th , 2018.

I did not receive anything, @David Dreezer please any reason why? Oh, i just noticed i had the wrong telegram name on my profile, but i doubt if that is the reason why i missed out. I have updated the profile though.

Nice one and kudos to the Narrative Team.

@Osita - I checked the data file from April 2nd but there was no Telegram name in your profile. That eliminated you from the process, according to the rules.  I am sorry you missed out but am glad you added both Telegram and NEO info since then. Next time!!

HI Jerrod - We applied the rules as of the morning of April 2nd when the beta launch.  As of then, there wasn't a telegram name in your profile.  It's good to add one even now and to fix the NEO address but unfortunately, it means you weren't part of the distribution.

Everyone who received Community Rewards NRVE this week has an email notification.

As of April 2nd, there was no Telegram name (or NEO address) in your profile.  I'm glad you've added them since. The rule for having a Telegram name to participate in Community Rewards dates back to early 2018 and this latest round closed with the launch of beta on April 2nd.

Since I was not aware of Narrative in early 2018, I do not recall any of the communication about community rewards requiring a Telegram name, just an NEO address. If I add my Telegram name now, will I receive the share of community rewards I should have received had I known about that requirement in time? I only found this now because I read that distributions had been made, and I did not receive any. Communication about such things is really lacking.

The sidebar in community.narrative.org featured this advertisement pretty well continuously since February 2018

"Learn more" linked to rules that were fairly clear about the Telegram requirement so it's not a new thing.  #2 under "Here's How to Qualify"

Joining Telegram now and adding it to your profile will not qualify you retrospectively, unfortunately.

With all due respect, when I see "tokens reserved for active participants," I never thought I needed to learn more because I was actively participating in the support community. Narrative's messaging is consistently unclear, which is something that's been brought up in issues on the support community, like my post about how confusing it is for members when they posted in a niche that ends up getting rejected because it never should have been approved in the first place. Narrators still feel like THEIR POST was rejected, not the niche itself. I did receive one of those emails this time, and while I knew what it meant, I can understand why new users were upset and confused.

Your messaging needs to be more descriptive and explicit, without hiding caveats behind another click. I am more perturbed about this now than I was before. Instead of actively participating in the support community, I should have been clicking on something that seemed self-explanatory in the sidebar? Not cool.

I've been active online since the early days of the Web. I'm pretty much immune to display advertising. Ever hear of ad blindness? I'm surprised that display advertising is as effective as it is (which isn't very) because most people today just don't care about it.

I do not remember ever seeing that ad. And I probably didn't, regardless how often or how many times it was displayed.

There is, as Christina says, a communication problem between Narrative staff and the community. And I don't think it's because you guys don't want to communicate well, or often. I think you're so busy with perfecting your platform that what is obvious to you is not so obvious to everyone else. You don't have the distance on it required to see it the way everyone else sees it and then when issues crop up, you point to some messaging you had way back when.

I do admit, however, that I had no concern for earning rewards from the community platform. It was my understanding, right from the get-go, that there would be none, so I didn't bother to look.

Hi @Christina Gleason - I suspected the Telegram address might have been the problem but had to turn in yesterday before I could respond to your post on the other thread...

I hope this gets resolved for you!

@Michael Farris, I think Community Rewards - even if I didn't have the occasion to participate - it's been a great initiative.

Its continuation, in my opinion, would be beneficial to the official platform too, even in beta and after the beta.

Having or starting some discussions here, away from the official platform, should be preferable. I sometimes bring discussions on Narrative - because we need that too -, but I always start from a report or a discussion here (usually stopping here). And it's not easy, because I know that I'm losing opportunities on Narrative. But those who prefer to "play fair" should not feel penalized. If only discussions on Narrative are rewarded, we may lose the opportunity to benefit from this excellent place, the Support Community, demotivating who spend time here. Feedback from the community will be needed also in the future. I don't think someone will bother being active here because of the rewards at stake, of course, but it would be good to give a positive signal - even if modest - to those active.

Just my feedback, in case a chink is still open on this matter.
