Launched first major upgrade since Beta

Service: Narrative

We just released what we are calling the "Anti-Troll Features and More" upgrade to the Narrative Beta. This includes the bug fix to the reputation formula, enhancements around managing troll behavior as well as some other enhancements like the canonical links.  Read all the details of what is included here

One surprise feature in this release (that we announced separately) is the Embed.ly feature. Read about it here.  Yes, that means that you can now showcase content from Instagram, Soundcloud, Slideshare, Quora, Yelp, Google Maps, YouTube, Twitter, Vimeo, and many more.

@MOLLY O This is a great thing to add canonical links. Here I wonder if I post new content on Narrative and immediately repost it on another platform than how Google will deal with that?  Which content will be taken as first one, as it might can come to crawl on Narrative later then that site.

@Blogger Krunal, I'm not an expert of SEO, but I fear that the only safe way to have your Narrative content indexed first is to have a canonical tag set on the other platform, pointing to Narrative. Content published first should have the priority but, when no explicit info about which is the "original" content is there, Google may consider various factors, including the authority of the domain.

Some platforms do not allow to set the canonical tag but maybe they do that automatically when importing. This is the case of Medium. But I guess that it's early to expect other platforms import correctly from Narrative. Didn't try yet, anyway.

A little issue with importing on Medium, but it's in process. This will set Narrative as "home" for SEO purposes if reposting on Medium

Thanks for adding your inputs @Vico Biscotti well the problem is other platform doesn't support canonical links yet and that's the issue about how to deal with that. As far as I know if Google crawl that page first and then it will index Narrative as duplicate content if I'm not wrong in seo terms here.

I've seen your issue about Medium @Colleen Ryer I haven't tried on Medium but thanks for letting me know.
