Translators niche. Does Narrative need more for translation service?

Service: Narrative

Recently I bought Translators niche (https://www.narrative.org/n/translators)
According to its definition,
"A niche for providing translation services of articles inside Narrative..."

--> "...inside Narrative..."

But what about the --> outside of Narrative?

I suppose that Narrative could provide translation service for materials published outside of Narrative as well.

So...

a) do we need a separate niche for the "outside" part?

or

b) may I just change the definition of Translators niche
from
"A niche for providing translation services of articles inside Narrative..."
to
"A niche for providing translation services for materials published inside and outside of Narrative ..."
or even something like !!!
"A niche for providing translation services for clients from all over the world..." )

I see the page -> https://www.narrative.org/post...niche-owner-now-what
says that
"You can edit the Name or Description for grammar/spelling, but don’t change the essential meaning of the Niche."

--> "..don’t change the essential meaning of the Niche..."

Would broadening the scope (inside + outside) be considered as changing the essential meaning of the Niche?

thanks in advance for all opinions/thoughts on this.

Hi @alex_bio

"A niche for providing translation services of articles inside Narrative, in order to increase diffusion of the best articles in this platform and provide work to translators."

It sounds to me that it's intended for inside Narrative - and would be a great service! wondering if translators get their translations voted on, as well as posts that are translated.

It sounds like the change you are suggesting would change the original description of the Niche name that was voted on by the Community.

I saw your suggested niche, researched and found the existing one, and agree that one appears to just be for inside Narrative.  The new one expands it to globally, sure.  Do we really need both though?  I don't think they overlap as described, but they probably could be combined into one with a simple edit, no?

@Finnian

"...but they probably could be combined into one with a simple edit, no?"

yes, I thought they could be easily combined into one,

but I agreed with the previous messages here in this case
cause indeed that change (broadening the scope) would change the initial meaning of the Niche (--> inside Narrative) that was previously voted on by the Community.

So, I've suggested the new one -> Translators Global (--> outside of Narrative)

I supposed that change of the first niche wouldn't be approved by Tribunal

@Colleen Ryer

"...wondering if translators get their translations voted on, as well as posts that are translated."

Just an example.
Let's say you want your post titled
"On Growing Glaciers and Climate Confusion"
translated into Japanese.
("...as well as posts that are translated..."
in this case your post has been already voted on)

As far as I understand, these days on Narrative we can only publish posts in English.
Let's say that we have Japanese community on Narrative
and professional Japanese translators who could help you with that.
You could publish --> a post with request <-- on Translators niche with requirements for translators.
And translators would respond in the comment section of that post.
One of them will do translation for you. He/she could submit that translation to you on Discord (for example). Then you could publish that translation on Steemit for example.
You could pay translator with NRVE.
Then he/she would publish --> a post with review <-- (in English) of translation work done on that same Translators niche.
And if Japanese community find his work valuable/useful for them,
they could support/reward him as well with upvotes.
Once other languages are supported on Narrative, I suppose that nothing stops you from publishing that translation on Narrative and get upvotes for that translation from corresponding foreign community.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
Maybe I've missed something.

Hi @alex_bio

So, just to see if I have it straight - as things currently stand for inside narrative

The original posts in English are voted on as usual -translations wind up off-site.

Translators are paid for service using nrve. Reviews by translators posted in the translation niche itself add more rewards for them, and also reward the niche owner. Cool

Eventually, languages other than English will also be supported on the platform so translated posts can stay on site, - would  likely add value/volume to the translation niche, as well.

Not sure how the payment structure of this fits in with the present TOS/AUP, though. Maybe the team will weigh in on it.
