Content Creation FAQ roll-up

Can you help me navigate to where I post content?
At the very top in the right corner of any page in the Narrative Alpha is a Post icon. posticon Just click it. If you don’t see the icon then just scroll up until you do. This will launch the Post Text Editor.

How do I add a picture to my post?
When you click into the Body area of the posting in the Post Text Editor form an X sign will appear.  Click that, and then choose “Insert Image.”

Note that the X sign is only visible when you start a fresh text line. In other words, if you are in the middle of typing something, you will need to hit enter to start a new line. The X will then be noticeable.

Is video supported too?
Youtube and Vimeo video embeds are supported. Direct uploading of videos to Narrative is not yet supported.

How do I style and align my text? Add a link?
Highlight your text and the wysiwyg editor appears.

Can I edit after I have posted or created a draft?
Yes. At any time you can go back into your profile, and under Posts you’ll see both your posts pending publish, and your drafts. You can edit any of them.

Can I delete a post or a draft?
Yes, the same way that you edit.

Will my post go live automatically? When?
Yes, what we are doing is pre-seeding content, which will go live after we reach beta.  We do not have an exact data for beta, but here is our published roadmap.  If you hit the Publish button on your post (verses Save), this means it will autopublish when the beta is launched.

Do I have to post to a Niche?
No. You don’t have to choose a Niche. You can post to just your own personal Journal if you like.

Can I hold a post back from going live once I publish? Turn it back into a draft?
No. You can delete a pending post, but you cannot turn it back into a draft. If you are not sure that a piece of content is ready to publish, please save it as a draft and publish it at a later time.

Can anyone see my post?
Not at this time. Once we reach beta it will be published live, but not until then.

Can I see other people's posts?
No. Not until beta is released.

Can I see who posted to my Niche?
No. Not until the beta is released.

Why should I post content now?
Besides helping us work out some kinks between now and the Beta, it will ensure that we have actual content ready to be released on Day 1 of the Beta! Be a pioneer!
