Niche suggestions were becoming stagnant, and it's really exciting to see new narrators getting right down to business! Here are a few quick tips for suggesting niches and voting to approve or reject them:
- Use the search function to make sure the niche you want to suggest doesn't already exist. Search for synonyms just to be safe so you're niche suggestion doesn't get rejected for being redundant. (Don't feel bad if this happens. There's a bit of a learning curve here.) You can also check before voting on a niche to see if it's already covered.
- Be precise and thorough in your niche name and description before suggesting a niche. As I type this up, there are a few examples of great names and descriptions (often voted 100% accept) and a few examples of bad ones - often notable by the votes to reject and the presence of comments.
- If you see that a suggested niche has comments on it, it's best to read them before voting. This will help you make an informed vote, and it will also help you see what "older" users use as criteria for voting.
